Scared

"J-jake...what is that?" she quietly asked.

Embarrassed, I muttered, "penis." Emma quietly stated at me with an intense gaze and I hurriedly moved away from her. "Sorry" I whispered. I turned around so that my back faced her so she couldn't see my erection.

There was no response from Emma as we both listened to the rain hitting the window. Finally, I heard Emma turning around and started...crying?

"What the fuck is she crying for?" I asked myself. I wanted to turn around and comfort her but the shame I felt was too great. I was paralyzed with fear. "She probably hates me now." I told myself. The sobs seemed to get louder and I knew that I had to do something before my parents hear us.

I turned around and put my arms around Emma again. She seemed to stop shaking when she felt the contact but continued crying. I kissed the back of her neck. "Emma, what's wrong?" I received no response but her crying started to die down. There was some sniffling after a few minutes. Finally, she turned around.

"Do you think I'm pretty?" she sadly asked me. I was surprised to hear that question because Emma was always a confident girl. What do I tell her? Would she think I'm a pervert if I said yes? But I would crush her if I said no.

Emma seemed to take my silence as hesitation. Sensing that bad news was coming, she got up off the bed and started to head out the door.

"Emma wait..." I said to her retreating body. It seemed to have an effect and she froze at the doorway.
