A quick get-away

Archie helped Betty into his car. He covered her with a blanket. Pulling on his own pants and sweater, he tossed the rest of their clothing into the backseat, got into the car, and drove down the hill and out of the park. Soon he was on the highway headed back into Riverdale being very careful not to speed or do anything that would draw the attention of any more cops..

"Archie, NO!" Betty finally spoke.

"It will be alright," Archie tried to comfort his girlfriend.

"No, I can't go home like this," Betty pleaded.

Archie saw that they were approaching a strip of seedy motels. The kids in town all knew that they didn't ask for real name or require luggage at these places. Archie figured that he could pull in, rent a cheap room, and thet they both could shower and clean-up.

Archie pulled into the lot of one secluded motel. He parked behind the office. "Wait here, Betty, I'll be right back."

Archie jumped out of the car and raced into the office. It didn't take long for him to register as Mr. and Mrs. Reggie Smith. He hurried back to the car with the room key. When he approached the car, his jaw dropped in shock.
