Introductions among us

I stood there, looking like an idiot. I was broken out of the trance when Casey cleared her throat, obviously a little nervous with my reaction.

"Sorry. I'm Jake." I said as I shook her small hand. It feels really silky. She smiled back at me. She has a beautiful smile.

"Guess we're stuck together. Hope you don't smell too bad." she joked. I couldn't help but smile at her comment. She seems to be a fun person to be around. I can't believe she is dating Joshua though. At least she didn't recognize me as the guy who "accidentally" bumped into her boyfriend.

We decided to talk about our life in order to pass the time. During our time together, I learned that she is a college student. She works part time at a jewelry store and both of her parents died a few months ago. She has no other immediate family relative.

"Sorry to hear about your parents." I said. She just waved it off and told me she is over after months of being in a state of depression.

Casey didn't judge me when I told her about moving away after high school prom. She just remarked, "Hope California was great to you." I nodded and told her about my family life. She was kind and a good person to lean on when you need to air out some frustration. She was rather sympathetic to me.

During the talk, I found Casey to be a very interesting and smart person. Too bad she is Josh's girl. I felt really bad about her choice in Joshua but decided to hold my tongue. Didn't want come off as a **** person that is trying to break up a relationship. Casey came off as really sweet to me.

"Alright! Can the two lovebirds start rehearsing?" said Emma as she directed a smirk towards my direction. I noticed everyone was standing around waiting for us to get ready. Casey blushed, took my hand, and pulled me towards the crowd. Harry was chuckling quietly next to Emma until I gave him a glare.

The wedding rehearsal went smoothly. Everything was going great and Emma allowed everyone to rest for an hour. I treated Casey to lunch and she agreed.
