Why would a pretty girl pay for a dating program?

"I can see," Rene said, "why you guys would pay for a program to find you dates. But why would a pretty girl pay? I mean, I've got guys hitting on me all the time. Paying ten bucks to get more of that doesn't make sense."

"And," Barry, who'd been essentially Rot's only friend his first time through High School, put in, "if the pretty girls don't sign up, who else will bother?"

Barry was Rot's friend because nobody else wanted to be friends with him. And the big reason for that wasn't because he was a nerdy little guy, although he was. The big reason was that he said whatever popped into his mind without wondering if he might be messing, say, with someone else's presentation. That said, it was a valid question and Rot needed to answer.

Fortunately, Wendy jumped in to help. "Sure you get asked out on a lot of dates, Rene. And if some guys weren't too shy," here she looked at Rot meaningfully, "you'd probably get asked out on more. But how many of those dates are fun? And how many just end up being wrestling matches in the guy's car?"

"So? Getting even more dates with creepy guys would help how?"

"That's what Rot was explaining," Wendy said. "Because we're performing a psychologically proven analysis, we'll be able to match people who actually might get along. So, yeah you get plenty of dates but I'd bet you'd be willing to pay plenty for a date who actually likes you rather than just thinks you have a hot body."

While Rene considered that, Barry decided it was time for him to get involved again. "Okay, but look at the ugly girls. Even if the computer says you're a good match, who'd want to spend a lot of money taking one of those girls out?"

"I'm working on that," Rot admitted. "But I don't think it's that big a problem. There are plenty of guys who'd be happy to go out with a girl who's fun to be with even if she isn't as pretty as, say, Wendy or Rene."

"Yeah, like me, I guess," Barry admitted.

Barry wasn't the model male he'd use in advertising the dating program but his point was right... in two senses. There were guys who'd date even the less attractive girls, but would any of those girls think those guys were much of a catch? He'd have to ask his sister to get a real female take. The thought of his sister, of course, sent instant boner through his system. Something, he noted, that Rene clearly saw before she averted her eyes.
