Lucy Goes Back to School

The Other Girls Tease Her & Then She Goes to See John

Chapter 8 by Theothegiant Theothegiant

he library was mercifully quiet on Thursday.

Lucy wheeled the returns cart through the nonfiction stacks, her sensible flats whispering against the industrial carpet. The soreness between her legs had faded to a pleasant hum, a secret she carried beneath her knee-length skirt and practical cardigan. Nobody looking at her would know. Nobody would guess that the shy redhead reshelving biographies had spent the morning in a sixty-two-year-old man's bed, learning things about her body that the school's health curriculum had never mentioned.

"Lucy!"

She flinched. A copy of The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire nearly slipped from her fingers.

Chloe and Madison materialised at the end of the aisle like cats who'd spotted a wounded bird. They'd been in her English class last semester. They'd also been the ones who'd suggested, with theatrical innocence, that Lucy should deliver library books to "poor Mr Harrison", who lived alone and probably needed company.

"So," Chloe said, her smile sharp with knowing. "How was your date?"

Lucy slid the Roman history onto its shelf with deliberate care. Her cheeks heated, but she refused to give them the satisfaction of stammering.

"It was not a date," Lucy said defiantly. "John and I just had tea, and then I walked him back home. He was a perfect gentleman."

"Uh-huh." Madison circled to the other end of the cart, trapping her. "And you were there for, what, three hours?"

"We had tea and talked about his life and my plans for college." The lie came easier than she thought.

The girls exchanged a glance that Lucy couldn't read. Something flickered between them—disappointment, maybe, that their joke hadn't landed the way they'd hoped.

"You're not, like, in love with him or anything, are you?" Chloe called after her.

Lucy kept walking. Her heart hammered against her ribs, but her gait remained steady.

By three o'clock, her shift had ended, and Lucy found herself walking the familiar route to John's neighbourhood. Her sensible flats had been replaced by the sneakers she kept in her locker. Her cardigan was stuffed into her backpack. The May air was warm on her bare arms, and the freckles across her shoulders were already darkening towards their summer bronze.

She didn't call ahead. Didn't text. Just walked up the porch steps—the newspaper was gone this time—and knocked.

John opened the door.

He was wearing reading glasses. Lucy had never seen him in reading glasses before, and the sight of them perched on his weathered face, his pale blue eyes slightly magnified behind the lenses, made something flutter in her chest that had nothing to do with sex.

"You came back."

"Was I not supposed to?"

"I'd hoped." His thumb traced the ridge of her spine. "But an old man learns not to expect things."

Lucy turned to face him. In the dim hallway light, the lines around his eyes seemed deeper, his grey-streaked hair more silver than she remembered. He looked his age. And she didn't care.

"I've been thinking about this all day," she admitted. "About you. About—" She gestured vaguely at the house, the bedroom somewhere beyond the hallway, the things they'd done there. "Everything."

John removed his reading glasses, folded them carefully, and set them on the hallway table.

"Show me."

She blinked. "What?"

"Show me what you've been thinking about." He leant against the wall, arms crossing over his barrel chest. "You've had a day to reflect. To consider what you learned. Now teach me something."

Lucy's mouth went dry.

The dynamic had shifted. She could feel it—the way he watched her, patient but expectant, waiting to see what she'd do with the confidence he'd spent all night building in her.

"Okay," she said. Then, stronger: "Okay."

She took his hand. Led him down the hallway. Not to the bedroom—that felt too obvious, too scripted—but to the living room, with its worn leather armchair and the fireplace that hadn't been cleaned in months. The afternoon sun slanted through the venetian blinds, striping the floor with light.

"Sit," she told him.

John's eyebrows rose. But he sat.

Lucy stood before him, her hands trembling slightly. She'd never done this before—never been the one in control. The girl who blushed when boys looked at her, who hid her body beneath loose sweaters, who'd been a virgin forty-eight hours ago.

That girl was still there. But she had company now.

She unbuttoned her blouse. Slowly. Deliberately. Making him watch.

"You're beautiful," John murmured. "I told you that yesterday. I'll tell you every day if you let me."

"I know." And she did. That was the strange part. She actually believed him.

The blouse fell to the floor. Her bra followed—plain white cotton, practical, the kind a librarian's salary could afford. John's gaze on her bare breasts was a physical weight, and Lucy let him look. Let him see the pale, freckled skin and the pink nipples that tightened in the cool air.

Then she knelt.

The carpet was rough against her knees through her skirt. She reached for his belt—his hands moved to help, but she shook her head.

"I want to do it."

His hands retreated to the armrests.

The belt buckle was stubborn. Her fingers fumbled, and a month ago she would have been mortified by her own clumsiness. Now she just kept working at it until the leather slid free, until the button of his trousers popped open, until she could pull him out.

He was already hard.

"Lucy." Her name was gravel in his throat.

She didn't answer. Instead, she leaned forward and took him into her mouth.

Not tentative this time. Not waiting for instruction. She remembered what he'd taught her—the spot under the head, the rhythm of hand and mouth together, and the way his breath changed when she got it right. She used all of it. Her tongue found that ridge, pressed there, and John's hips jerked beneath her.

His hand found her hair. Not pushing. Just resting. Grounding himself.

"That's it," he breathed. "Christ, that's it."

She took him deeper. Her jaw ached, and her eyes watered, and she didn't care. The sounds he was making—these helpless, gutted groans—were worth any discomfort. She'd put those sounds there. She'd made this man, who'd seen so much of life, come undone with just her mouth.

When she pulled back to breathe, a strand of saliva connected her lips to his cock.

"I've been thinking about this," she said, her voice rougher than she'd intended. "All day. In the stacks. While I was shelving books."

John's chest heaved. "What did you think about?"

"This. Tasting you." She stroked him with her hand, slow, twisting on the upstroke the way he'd shown her. "The way you grab my hair. The sounds you make when you're close."

"Lucy—"

"I thought about what else I want to try."

His eyes darkened. "Tell me."

She did. Leaning close, her lips brushing the head of his cock with each word, she told him. What she'd imagined during her lunch break, sitting alone in the staff room with a sandwich she couldn't finish. What she'd thought about while Chloe and Madison smirked at her across the hallway, thinking they'd played some cruel joke.

"I want you to teach me patience," she said. "I want to taste you and touch you until you're begging. I want to know that I can make you feel as good as you made me feel."

John's breath shuddered out of him. "You already do."

"Not yet." She took him in her mouth again, just the head, and sucked—gentle, the way he'd taught her, like tasting a peach she didn't want to bruise. His fingers tightened in her hair.

She pulled back.

"But I will."

The next half-hour was a lesson in self-control.

Lucy learned the topography of John's body the way she'd once learned the Dewey Decimal System—methodically, patiently, committing every response to memory. The spot behind his ear that made his breath catch. The way his stomach tensed when she ran her tongue along the inside of his thigh. The sound he made when she cupped his testicles, gentle and reverent.

She brought him to the edge three times.

Each time, she'd stop. Pull back. Wait for his breathing to slow, for his eyes to focus on her again. Then she'd start over, using her mouth and hands in different combinations, learning what worked and what worked better.

"Please," he finally said—the word torn from somewhere deep. "Lucy, please."

"Please, what?"

"Please let me come."

She looked up at him—her lips swollen, her red hair a mess around her face, her bare breasts pressed against his thigh—and smiled.

"Yes."

She took him deep, her hand working what wouldn't fit, and John's whole body arched off the chair. His hand fisted in her hair, his thighs trembled beneath her, and when he came—when the salt-bitter flood of it hit her tongue—he said her name like a prayer.

Lucy swallowed. Swallowed again. Kept her mouth on him until he was spent and shuddering, until his hand gentled in her hair and pulled her up towards him.

She climbed into the armchair, settling across his lap, and John wrapped his arms around her like she was something precious.

"Clever girl," he murmured into her hair.

"The girls at school," Lucy said after a moment. "They asked if I was in love with you."

John went still beneath her. "What did you tell them?"

"I did not answer them, I just walked away."

He didn't answer immediately. His hand stroked down her bare back, over the curve of her spine, gentle and thoughtful. "And what do you tell me?"

Lucy tilted her head up to look at him. His pale blue eyes were unreadable now—guarded in a way they hadn't been before.

"I don't know yet," she admitted. "But I want to find out."
