So what's Klarion's plan?
A heretical one
"You see, my friend, there are people a few little ways off from us that have a rather interesting prophecy. They believe one day a chosen one will arrive and bring about a judgement that if they pass this judgement, the world will be rebuilt by four-element angels." Klarion told Condiment Wizard with an undercurrent of mischief.
"Okay, it's not the first version of this. I've heard lots of faiths believe in the whole rebuild of the world into a utopia. What does it have to do with us performing dark magic?" Condiment Wizard asked, confused, why Klarion would know about this or care for that matter. It didn't effect them in the slightest unless the chosen one of theirs had suddenly shown up.
"Well, it just so happens that I know a dark wizard that can conjure elements that, when mixed with chaos, could create these elemental angels." Klarion said while wagging his eyebrows at Condiment Wizard in a suggestive manner, which he understood. Klarion wanted to have him hijack this prophecy for their own purposes, which seemed a good idea when it came to bringing an evil wizard.
It would surely get an entire nation in these mountains enraged at them. Which is clearly something any evil wizard should be capable of. It would help cement his reputation for having an entire nation gunning for him. "What dark wizard would disagree with turning a holy prophecy into one of his own rise to power?" Condiment Wizard said with a halo look on his face, to which Klarion smiled back.
"Though how is this plan going to work in practice?" Condiment Wizard asked. As he could see him creating a giant storm using his magic ketchup or mustard, but he was underground, how was he going to make clouds above when he was below? Klarion and Teekl laughed for a second before answering.
"It's easy chaos; remember, we'll have it to where casting a storm underground will cause one to form above ground as well." Klarion said once he was done laughing. Teekl hissed, and Klarion nodded. "Good point, Teekl." Klarion said, responding to Teekl, and then turned to the Condiment wizard. "Only use that special ketchup of yours; we're going to show those mountain losers who are best at flinging lightning.
"Of course," Condiment Wizard responded, his mind whirling at the great act of magic he was about to perform with his friend and the implications of it. He was going to make a holy prophecy his own and make a case his lighting was better than what the god of lighting himself used. It was the act that could not be done by the dead. No, not only could only the living do it, but only one mad with power and pride even dared to try it.
He was proving that he was not only alive through legend but was becoming greater than he'd ever been before. That made Condiment Wizard question himself all the great magics he had done and been a part of. The fact he was now performing magic to snub gods and prophecy left him with a question that made the core of who he was now quake. Had Jeremy Sawyer truly died, or had he evolved into what he was now?
It was a terrible thought that all the pain and screams were for his own good. The fact that a mad clown haunted his dreams, turning them into nightmares forevermore, just so he could cast the magic now didn't seem worth it. Though perhaps he was looking at it wrong. They say metal only takes shape under heat and pressure; perhaps the torment wasn't good for him, as he had originally dared to think. Now it was something that surviving had made him stronger for.
Now that was a thought that he had not died but merely used his torment to change into something greater. The thought that left a greater question was, was he still Jeremy Sawyer? That shouldn't be, as Jeremy did not have the power to do what he was doing now. So then what was Condiment Wizard in the end? The second life of Jeremy Sawyer or something else entirely? A question to ponder while he and Klarion prepare the ketchup lighting that would make Zeus green with envy.
In Bludhaven the Grayson returns to a circus. Nightwing stayed in Gotham to deal with the war going on and had insisted that they head back to the circus, as Gotham was too dangerous for them with the current mafia gang war going on. They of course agreed, as it was two birds with one stone; they got to have their son be reassured that they were safe and look into what they needed to.
The others were all surprised and delighted to see them. The ones that had known them when they were alive were beyond happy to see their acrobat family return from the grave to them, and those that had come after were in awe. As the Grayson acrobats had become legends in the circus after their passing. They talked for hours as they caught up with everyone and gave tips to the next generation of acrobats.
The circus owner, Mr. Hayley, of course had to get them to perform. His greatest act is returning from the dead to perform at the circus once again. It was the kind of show that would bring everyone from every city and then within fifty miles coming just to confirm it was true. They agreed, of course, due to three reasons. The first was money; they would make a lot of it on this performance, which would pay for the search of those that could help their master.
The second reason was it would get their name out to those they needed to hear it. As the note magical and occult performers would not doubt be just as eager to see the resurrected as normal people would. The third and final reason was because it was who they were. They were talented acrobats, and their family had dedicated several generations to being the best circus acrobats in the country.
So they put on a show, jumping through dozens of hoops at once and triple backflipping on top of one another. They performed insane feats of acrobatic skills one after another as if they'd been doing it all year instead of being dead for a decade. The crowd roared with awe and amusement the entire show. Mr. Hayley was in tears at the end of the night after seeing how much money the performance had brought him.
They returned to the coach that had housed their family for generations. Mary lay down on the bed while John sat at one of the chairs. "You think it worked?" Mary asked in concern whether or not one of the supernatural performers had shown up. John gave her a tired smile, being silent for a moment before answering.
"Yes, I'm sure one of them showed up. We did plenty of shows all day, and one of them has bound to have come and taken a look during one of them," John said, then his smile turned into a frown. "The real question is, will one of them approach us about it?" John said with a bit of a sigh, which Mary joined in. It was a valid concern for the two that they just be seen as interesting but trivial in the supernatural community.
"So what do we do if it didn't?" Mary tried to ask but was interrupted by a knock at the door. The two looked at each other for a moment, then John went to answer the door while Mary got up and waited to see who it was. There a young woman with red hair, brown eyes, average breasts, and wide hips appeared in their doorway.
"Hello, Mr. and Ms. Grayson. I'm Anita Fite. I saw your show and heard your story. I just had to hear the whole thing from the two of you." Anita said with a wife and eager smile. John looked to Mary, who nodded at him, the both of them figuring this was one of the ones they had been hoping for.
"Of course, come in; we're always ready to host a fan," John said as he showed Anita to one of the other chairs. "In fact, my wife will get the drinks, as this story is a long one." John said aloud, and Mary nodded, making her way over to the kitchen and getting the drinks. He got to telling Anita the story, distracting her from what his wife was doing.
As the two had done shows, they had discovered something. They still had some of their flying fish abilities. They'd used them to perform some of their best acrobatic stunts throughout the day, but the ability to glide wasn't the only thing they kept. A few times fish scales were added to the bottom of the cup meant for Anita. The fish scales in the cup would take hold, and turn the liquid in the cup into the tartar sauce that had brought them back.
It did so quickly the girl not noticing as she drank subconsciously to focused on the story John was telling. It wasn't an entirely true one as there was a good chance that if they told how loyal they had been that she might suspect they were still loyal. So he told a different story it was the same as the truth in everyway but one. That they were trapped in their bodies desperately fighting against the will of their master.
The tartar drinks effect took hold of her. Anita started to feel herself drift off. She felt a sea breeze go by her face and heard the waves of the ocean. The two feeling caused her to end up sitting there blankly staring ahead. The two Graysons smiled to each other then began asking Anita certain questions that she answered honestly. The Graysons learned quite a few things more than Anita would have ever told them willingly bringing their plans closer to completion.
