Much as Rot wanted to rush off and see what he could make with Wendy, he'd promised Lauren he'd do the dishes for her. And nobody wanted to get on Lauren's bad side. Besides, his mother would be there drying the dishes.

Once again, he wondered how he'd been oblivious to how attractive she was when he'd gone through this the first time.

"I plan on being here for both of you," Rot promised.
