Chapter 10
by Duskford
What happens next?
Ms. Lamb is unsure
A few minutes after ten, Rosie Lamb had just taken a shower and exited the bathroom wearing a fluffy red robe with the hotel's crest embroidered on its left breast pocket. The younger teacher was still unsure if she should drop by her students' party at 11 o'clock.
It really wasn't appropriate for a teacher, and besides, all of them were good kids, therefore she trusted most of them to do the right thing. "Still, it may not be a bad idea to check up on them," Rosie reasoned. "Just for a few minutes, to see if none of them will go overboard."
As she went to the dresser, her cellphone buzzed on the nightstand. Raising an eyebrow, Rosie wondered who could be calling her at this time, seeing as she had just talked again with her boyfriend before entering the bathroom to shower. Picking up the device, she frowned when seeing that it identified the caller as Mr. Hunter's phone.
"Mr. Hunter?" She answered the call. "Is there something wrong?"
"Sorry for bothering you at such a time, Ms. Lamb, but there may be something I need you to look out for me." The vice principal replied in a tired voice.
"Now?" Rosie asked in surprise.
"Unfortunately, yes," Jerome answered. "You see, Ollie Worthington came to me with rumors that some of the other kids may have sneaked some **** on the plane."
Rosie frowned again, thinking just what kind of **** the kids had brought to their little party. Normally she wouldn't mind if she saw one of them drinking a beer or two, but if what they brought was too strong, she might have to step in and ensure no one would do something stupid. Of course, there was also the possibility of Mr. Worthington having made it all up to make one of the others look bad. "That's really unfortunate, Mr. Hunter."
"Indeed, my dear," The man agreed with her. "Now, I can't leave my room, but could I ask you to go and take a look at the kids, just to make sure things are running smoothly?"
"Of course, Mr. Hunter, I'll do it." Rosie replied.
"Thank you, Ms. Lamb, that'll be all." Jerome said on the same dismissive manner he used on the teachers' lounge back at the school and hanged up.
"Well, looks like I don't have a choice after all," The young teacher said, placing her phone back on the nightstand. "You kids better not be doing anything stupid." She thought, walking over to her dresser to pick up some clothes to wear and get ready to make an appearance at the kids' party.
What happens next? Is there any relevant reason Mr. Hunter can't leave his room?
