Talk, fight or run?
Take them out
Venus risked peeking around the door, and didn't like what she saw. The two men were in the center of the room. One was a very short, thin, human, the other equally short, but much, much larger. The bigger of the two was sitting behind a table, while the smaller one was standing in front of him, with a pack set next to him. The small man had his back to her, while the bigger man was in front of him.
A quick glance at the small man's gear revealed a short sword and a half-dozen daggers on his belt. If she could knock him ****, or at least down, she could get one of those weapons, and be much, much better off. What she could see of the larger man suggested he was wearing chainmail, which would make him tough to take down if she didn't get him quickly.
She grimaced, then slipped out from behind the corner, padding towards them as fast as she felt safe, crouching to keep the slim man between her and the larger one. As she got within a few steps, the larger man leaned a bit, as though he had seen someone in the door. Cursing mentally, Venus lunged at the smaller man's back, the heel of her palm streaking towards the base of his skull.
Her hand connected with a satisfying crunch, dropping the smaller man even as her other hand reached for one of his daggers, deftly snatching it from its' sheath as he fell. The bigger man's mouth gaped open, clearly torn between desire and panic. He struggled to his feet, as his hand reached for a large maul leaning against the table next to him, his eyes never leaving her chest. With a clear view of him, Venus could clearly see he was wearing chainmail. the only spot she could reliably attempt to hit would be his throat and face.
Venus took the one opportunity she had, and with a flick of her wrist, threw the dagger at his face. He saw the gleaming blade a little too late, and his effort to duck away simply caused the dagger to impale him through the eye. He grunted and fell like a tree. Venus spun, facing back towards the small man, but saw he was out cold.
She glanced at the wall, ensuring there was no one there, before looking about the room. It was small and cramped. In the back of it she could see a trapdoor leading into a small tunnel that ran beneath the wall. The tunnel was intended for moving troops around the wall without them being exposed, while allowing the walls to remain as thick as possible. It might yield a hiding spot if she needed one. Aside from the table, which had a note on it, there was nothing else in the room. Cursing her luck, Venus turned to the two mens' gear, realizing it was the only chance of clothing herself. She immediately ruled the large man out, as his massive set of chainmail would hang on her like a tent, and she'd have a hard time moving with its' weight. That left the smaller man's kit, which she promptly set about stripping him of.
Her movements were deft, as she rapidly removed his leather armor. It was nowhere near as nice as the suit she had possessed. She could tell, just by feeling it, that the leather was of a lower quality, and the armor had obviously seen some wear. As she finished removing the plates, she could see there was no way she could wear the clothes he wore beneath them. His frame was not only shorter than hers, it was much thinner at the waist and around the chest, too. A look at the armor revealed he had been somewhat inexperienced, too, as the straps were much too long for his size. A more experienced man would have cut them down to avoid being snagged in battle. She smiled, though, as that mistake meant there was a chance she could actually get the armor on.
The shin and thigh guards went on well enough, though they were a bit small on her. The thigh guards rested a bit low Thankfully, the kneepads were separate from the rest. The cuirass, even with its' straps completely loosened, was still a squeeze, smushing her breasts down somewhat painfully. It rested a bit high on her, leaving a good portion of her toned belly exposed. The pauldrons and upper arm guards were sadly integrated, and she couldn't wear them, though she found the bracers fit well enough. His belt thankfully had enough notches left on it to fit about her waist. His boots were, surprising, too small for her.
Well, something was better than nothing. Even though the armor looked silly, and showed off her panties and a goodly amount of skin, it beat being naked. She turned to the note, which simply read: "Found you some fresh blood, Sledge. Take them with you on this run." It was signed with a stylized 'C'.
With the note, she suddenly had another option, aside from hiding in the tunnels. She could pass off as the new person, and then slip away from them when the opportunity arose.
Try and hide in the tunnels, or pass off as a new smuggler?
