This is a Fanfiction, all characters are above 18 years old.
Yes guys, I know I have two other stories. My ADHD needs me to do more though, lol. I will update all of these stories, however, it'll be more of one week for one of the stories, next week, for the next, no real schedule. I appreciate the love though.
This story, like my others, is obviously a harem story, but the revelation of it being a harem story isn't as early or obvious as the rest. So don't drop it till you try it!
Ekko sighed as he opened his shop once more.
It had been four years and three hundred and sixty four days since Viktor had tried bringing about the 'Great Evolution,' his attempt to turn all of humanity into unfeeling robots.
Four years and three hundred and sixty four days since Ji-
Ekko busied himself in the shop, trying to ignore where his thoughts would undoubtedly lead him.
It'd been very difficult for him these past five years, going from the leader of the Firelights to being a humble owner of an antique shop.
Don't get him wrong, he was happy to finally be able to own the shop that used to be Benzo's, but it was a bittersweet feeling.
His thoughts were interrupted by the door opening.
Ekko looked up, ready to be a courteous salesman, but his face immediately soured as he saw who came in.
Violet Kiramman.
"Kiramman," Ekko said with a scowl.
Violet winced. "C'mon, Little Man, what happened to calling me Vi?"
"I don't have nicknames for Pilties," Ekko said.
"I'm a Lanes kid, same as you!" Violet exclaimed.
"Are you?" Ekko shot back. "Do you have the same drive in your heart? That same strength in your bones?"
Ekko scoffed. "You don't even have the same Gray in your lungs."
Violet slammed her hand on the counter. "That's a low blow, and you know it!"
"I'm only saying what all of Zaun is too scared to say to you and your wife," Ekko said.
"When will you all realize that she regrets what she did!" Violet said. "Jinx **** her!"
"Even as unstable as she was, Jinx wasn't as evil as that woman," Ekko said.
"Annnnd here we go," Violet said. "The lovesick boy runs to his girlfriend's defense, ignoring all her problems."
"I thought I was talking to Jinx's sister, now it feels like I'm talking to her killer," Ekko said.
Violet threw a punch at Ekko, sending him tumbling until his back hit the wall.
"Just tell me what you're here for," Ekko said after spitting the blood out of his mouth. "I won't waste my energy with a fucking Piltie."
Violet glared at him, then she threw a scroll onto the counter. "The Council's requesting you to make a speech tomorrow."
Ekko's glower suddenly turned ten times darker. "Get out of my store."
Violet stared at her childhood friend for a few moments, then she left with a slam.
Later that night, Ekko walked through Zaun.
For all of the promises of improvement after the war, Zaun stayed much of the same. Sure, there weren't Enforcers beating people up, but other than that, any support from their sister city was only in words, not in action.
Unfortunately, while the Undercity seethed with anger at Piltover once again taking advantage of them, putting their energy on removing Shimmer after the war left Zaun struggling and unable to find its footing.
Ekko sighed as he finally came within sight of his destination, The Last Drop, refurbished once more.
At the entrance, he was greeted by a pair of bouncers.
"Is she in?" Ekko asked.
"She cleared her schedule for you," the bouncer on the right said.
Ekko nodded, and entered the club. He ignored the flashing lights and loud music, heading upstairs, where the volume was lower and the vibes were more chill.
Ekko ignored all the people playing billiards, and walked until the double doors.
He knocked firmly.
"Come in," a female voice called out.
Ekko opened the door to the office, and took a seat.
"There better be a good explanation to this so-called request," Ekko said harshly.
Sevika sighed as she took a long drag. "Y'know what this is about, Firelight. Don't insult either of us."
"When you took that position on the Council, you promised me you'd work for the Undercity!" Ekko screamed. "Now, it seems like you're just sitting there to sit there!"
Sevika slammed her robotic arm on the desk. "Don't take your anger at that bitch out on me."
Ekko took a deep breath. "Don't call me Firelight."
Sevika sighed. "Yer right, that might've been a little too much from me. Y'know that's why they want you to make a speech."
Ekko scoffed. "They just need someone to talk a rousing speech about unity, love, and the war, so that they can ignore that Piltover still rips us off."
"They know Zaun is getting testy," Sevika said. "Hell, both of us are just about near our ends. So much for cooperation, huh?"
"We should've known it was doomed from the start," Ekko said. "If Jayce lived, we'd have been able to help work independence out, but now..."
"They're going to kick me out of the Council soon," Sevika said. "Cuntlyn will take my spot, and from then, it'll be back to status quo."
"Cuntlyn," Ekko chuckled. "I think I'll call her that."
"So you'll make the speech?" Sevika asked.
"Tell those assholes upstairs I'll do it," Ekko said, standing up.
If Sevika noticed a gleam in his eyes saying he had a plan, she didn't mention it.
Twenty minutes later, Ekko was knocking on the door to a dilapidated apartment.
A few moments after, the door opened, revealing Scar, Ekko's second-in-command from the Firelight days.
Scar took one look at Ekko's face and blanched. "What are you planning?"
"You wanna go talk at the tree?" Ekko asked in lieu of an answer.
Scar stared at Ekko for a moment, then he sighed. "Aaliyah, I'll be back in half an hour!" He called to his wife.
"Alright!" Her voice came back faintly.
Ekko and Scar trudged through the poverty-stricken streets in silence.
At one point, a little boy tried robbing Ekko, but one look at Ekko's glare, and the orphan went slinking back into the shadows.
If Ekko 'accidentally' dropped his last three coins, Scar didn't mention it.
Eventually, they reached the tree, which was now a rotten replica of the beauty and splendor it used to have.
Scar and Ekko sat in front of the fading mural.
"Talk to me, Ekko," Scar said.
"Violet came to my shop," Ekko said. "Her wife wants me to make a speech tomorrow."
"What are you thinking, Ekko?" Scar asked worriedly.
"I accepted," Ekko said. "I just... Didn't mention that I won't follow the spirit of celebration."
"You realize that will cause war," Scar asked.
"Sevika will be kicked out of the Council by the end of next month," Ekko said. "They'll send in Enforcers the month after that, for some reason or the other."
"Still, making the first move isn't ideal," Scar said. "Ignoring that there's no more Firelights, it just wouldn't work."
Ekko took out his pocketwatch.
"You remember what this used to do, right?" Ekko asked.
"Yeah, but you told me you smashed the Anamoly into Viktor's face," Scar said confusedly.
Ekko pointed at the tree. "Somewhere in those roots, there's a bigger anomaly."
Scar's eyes widened. "Are you sure about this?"
"I've spent the past five years researching runes and magic," Ekko said. "This has to work."
"And if it doesn't?" Scar asked.
"Well, war between the cities was always an inevitability," Ekko said in a defeated tone.
"You know I'd always follow you," Scar said. "How can I help?"
Ekko smiled.
The next day, Ekko rode his hoverboard to Piltover, wearing a fashionable suit and tie eerily reminiscent of his time in the alternate reality.
Ekko slowed to a stop as he reached the stage, kick flipping off his board, much to the chagrin of Caitlyn, who was also on the stage.
However, Caitlyn wasn't a politician for nothing, and she showed none of her actual feelings as she introduced him.
"Let's give it up for the leader of the Firelights, a highly respected citizen of the Undercity, Ekko!" Caitlyn exclaimed.
As she neared him, she went to give him a handshake, but Ekko maneuvered around her, and took his spot at the podium.
"Citizens of Zaun and Piltover," Ekko began. "We're gathered here today to celebrate five years since we escaped a reality overrun by Glorious Evolution.
"If there was ever one thing I believe we were all to learn from those dire times, it would be value. Jayce Talis, a dear friend, he valued Mel Medarda of Noxus. He valued Me, Ekko of Zaun. He valued Viktor of Zaun. He valued Violet Kiramman of Piltover. Lastly, he valued Caitlyn Kiramman of Piltover.
"Of all of Piltover, there are two people I valued the most. Jayce Talis, and Cecil B. Heimerdinger. Both of these great people valued me for who I was, and they respected me from the bottom of their hearts. Likewise, I only found it correct to show them such courtesy.
"In recent days, we all find ourselves wondering, "how does our sister city value us?" I advise you to search within yourselves, and where you are, and you'll find the answer to that question. I'd also like you to ask two more questions to yourself. Firstly, "how much should our sister city value us?""
Ekko saw Caitlyn and Violet get out of their seats and rush toward him, but he continued to speak.
"Secondly, "how can we make our sister city value us?"" Ekko said into the mic, then he was grabbed by Violet.
"Do you realize what you just did?" Caitlyn asked as she slapped a pair of handcuffs on him.
Ekko grinned. "Too late, Cuntlyn."
Caitlyn froze in anger. "What the fuck did you just call me?"
"Cuntlyn~~~" Ekko sang, and Caitlyn slapped Ekko.
Ekko laughed, and Violet's face paled.
"Caitlyn," Violet said worriedly. "He planned this."
"What do you mean?" Caitlyn asked.
Before Violet or Ekko could answer, the world fractured.
