Chapter 20 by Spars2023 Spars2023

Now what to do with the Librarian was the question…

Honest questions, after all, she clearly likes the redhead he just saved.

When he backs off a bit, she’s willing to answer all his questions about Puck and the Fair Folk. She’s also able to give him an estimate. He has thirteen days until Puck can return to their dimension. Puck has many enemies, but the most powerful of those is Titania, the queen he tricked, though older texts suggest it was somewhat more…intimate a betrayal than that suggested by the Bard.

Titania, in turn had betrayed Oberon and been confined to the land of Underhill, and barred from the material world, unless she was summoned by a mortal. She also provided the ritual that would summon her, along with cautions that Titania was a major power and not a nice person, or even a nice member of the Fair Folk. Apparently, she had planned to imprison all of her fellows and enslave them, using an artifact which was subsequently hidden on Earth. And that’s what she intended for her own people, for the lowly mortals, her plans were far worse…

She also provided information about imprisoning the Fair Folk via the use of iron (though getting them in the cages, or collars could be tricky) and defending against them via rituals and various other means, which might be…plausible, in the short term, as well as certain, sacrifices, which could appease them.

She provided verbatim reports of various old texts, as well as locations for some currently unknown works. And all too soon, he had the outline of various strategies and needed to decide what to do with the three people in the house.

What to do with the supervillainess, the would-be killer and the would-be victim?
