Chapter 6 by lostandfound lostandfound

What should I do?

Hold her

I tentatively wrap my arms around Sara, ready to pull back if she shows any sign that I have overstepped my bounds. She answers my embrace with on of own. We snuggle up against one other. Her head rests on my chest, cradled by my arm. I smell the perfume of her hair and I drift down into the deep and still waters of bliss. I lose myself to a dreamless slumber.

For the rest of my life, whenever I would need strength, I would think back on that night and it would give me comfort. We never spoke a word. We just held each other as the storm raged. For as long as we clung to each other, the chill in the air never touched us, the rain and hail couldn't bother us, even the mighty thunder had lost it's anger.

I wake with Sara still in my arms, and the pale morning sunlight streaming through the windows. I didn't dare get up for fear of waking her, she needs the rest, and one morning's peace was what so much less than what she deserved.

I could feel the soft kisses of her breath against me, as her body would rise and fall in my arms. I risk moving my hand and gently stroke her head. She rubs the side of her face against my chest and I feel her softly yawn. She pauses for a second and then lifts herself away from me.

"Sorry," I says, "I didn't mean to wake you."

She looks around and blushes, "I guess we must have fallen asleep during the storm."

I get up and stretch, crinks and cracks sound all over my body. "We probably shouldn't make a habit of sleeping together like that..." I stop as I realize what I have just said. "Sorry, you know what I meant."

Sara stands up and stretches. She closes her eyes and arches her back while reaching her arms back as far as she can, the maneuver makes her breasts seem to rise. I must admit that I took a long look before her eyes open.

"Yeah, I know what you meant. My muscles are kinda tight too." She rolls her head on her shoulders. "Still, I can't remember the last time I slept so soundly." She walks over and gives me a little kiss on the cheek, "Thanks for being here."

I smile and say, "Well, it was either you or the storm and you've got to remember that at first, I did try the storm"

She punches my arm with surprising strength. "Jerk," she chides me, but with a smile on her face.

I look at Sara and say, ā€œI’m glad I stayed.ā€

Next, I look to the kitchen and the bathroom, "Do you want some coffee or do I get to shower first?"

Her answer?
