Make a joke

"No, no," Mandy said waving her hand. "Not me. I don't know about Scott."

"The second I get to that place my pants are coming off. I'm not even packing clothes, just a backpack with accessories and toiletries."

Everybody laughed.

"I don't know if I could go naked," Mandy said. "That's, like, not for me. I'd be too embarrassed."

"Oh you have nothing to be embarrassed about," Billy assured her. "You're young, you're sexy."

"Oh my goodness, you're too nice," Mandy said with another hand wave.

"And it's fun," Billy said.

"Yea?"

"Rene and I went to one just like that in the Bahamas. We had a blast. It was really, what's the word I'm looking for... freeing."

"I don't know, it seems a little too crazy for me," Mandy said.

"It was fun," Rene said.

"You know what else was fun?" Billy asked. He looked at Rene as if to ask permission to continue. Rene's eyebrows raised slightly.

"Rene and I have actually been... swapping, like swapping partners."

In the blink of an eye, our conversation became simultaneously more awkward and more interesting as Mandy and I listened to Billy, trying our best to hide our shocked faces.

"Yea, umm, one night we were hanging out with some old friends on his boat and we were out on the lake, nobody around, drinking and getting silly and we started playing Truth or Dare and his wife dared him to kiss Rene and then we dared the girls to take their tops off and, next thing you know, we were all naked."

Billy paused for a half second to read our reactions. Mandy and I were both speechless.

"Then his wife started going down on me and Rene started going down on him and things escalated from there and, yea, we've been getting into it a bit more since. We've met up with a few other couples and it's been a really great experience.

Billy finally stopped talking to allow us to respond but neither I nor Mandy could figure out what those first words should be.
