A small envelope with a gift voucher and a card from my wife.

On the pillow, there's an envelope addressed to me. Inside I find a brief note from Louise and £250 gift voucher for a large and upmarket department store in town.

"I got an unexpected bonus and wanted to treat you to something special!"

I was pleased for her. She works hard and this was a pleasant surprise before Christmas. I wondered how big the bonus was to spend have spent so much on me.

"If you go tonight, ask for my friend Jessica. She's working late today. You really could do with some new clothes. She can get an additional staff discount of 25% on anything from her area. Pick something you like. Louise xxx"
