On a 7-9, you get out of trouble, but it will cost you.

The six armored knights move in to surround you, swords flashing. With great swings of your huge axe, you take down one, then two. The knights at your back slash at your sides, cutting through your worn chainmail, and crude leather, and into your thickly muscled flesh. You swing again, bringing down a third knight, a fourth. Blood seeps from your wounds, as the remaining knights circle, slashing a you again, shouting for reinforcements. Your armor falls away in tattered pieces, leaving your powerful chest bare, criss-crossed with bleeding red marks from their swords. With a savage cry, you bring your axe around in a great arc and cut down the last two knights, stepping over their fallen bodies to the princess, cowering on her bed.

But the victory has cost you. You are injured, unarmored, and the sounds of the battle will bring more knights soon. You don't have much time.
