Chapter 6 by FunStuff FunStuff

What does she say?

All the time

"I went camping a lot when I was younger," Krista lied, trying to sound brave.
Camping was something that she had always wanted to try, but never gotten around to doing.

Joshua's face lit up. "Awesome," he exclaimed. "We'll camp here tonight and then we can head back in the morning."

Agreeing, Krista helped Joshua pitch the tent that he carried in his backpack. She didn't really know what she was doing, but she connected the poles that he told her to and soon enough the job was done. Later that night, after the sun had completely set, Krista and Joshua sat by the campfire, sipping on Krista's bottled water and munching on Josh's trail mix. They talked late into the night. Krista found herself laughing, often very hard, at the things Joshua would say to her.

He looked her in the eyes. "You seem different tonight," Joshua said. "In a good way, I mean. More laid back, more real. Not that you weren't great last week, just now you seem doubly cool."

Krista smirked at the irony of Josh's observation, but was genuinely touched by his compliment. Not able to think of anything to say, Krista just smiled. Joshua wrapped his arms around her shoulders and pulled her close to his body. Krista was alarmed at first, but then relaxed, and melted into Joshua's embrace. The two of them sat there for a long time.

As the fire died down. the chilly wind picked up. Krista shivered. That extra sweater she brought was not doing much good.

"Time to call it a night, I guess," Josh said.

Krista grudgingly agreed. She had been enjoying sitting with Josh by the fire.

Josh unzipped the tent and both of them crawled in. He started to lie down, then stopped. Sounding embarrassed he said, "Uhh, Ashley? There's only one sleeping bag here, and it's gonna be a really cold night..."

What does Krista do?
