What's next?
Rush back
When I awoke I almost could forget the events of the past month or so, that lasted until I rolled over to see the girl sitting? Crouched? Whatever a person with a fish lower half does when there's there no water.
She smiled leaning into me and planted a kiss on my head making a motion for me to get up.
So I did stretching as I shook off my sleepiness.
Right, today is the day I had planned to head back so I can treat the mystery girl I have in stasis.
I had a quick meal and started for my half finished moonpool. It was half finished because of the trip to the male side of their society before finding the human woman. I wasn't in a rush just because she was dying, she was in stasis so she had all the time in the world. What I was rushing for was how she got here, and why. She was here recently and hasn't been here that long else the disease would have killed her.
I shook my head, I purely wanted to know one thing from her, if she still had her ship.
It was my one ticket off the planet and I wanted it. No, needed it.
I put on my wetsuit and swam around to where I started construction of the Moonpool. Yes, it wasn't finished but it was working before I had stopped last. So I had set it to construct a tug. Little more than a turbine with a protective housing and a seat. It would tow the small little habitation room easily, but it was going to be cramped if I wanted to carry four passengers...
Matter of fact... Where was that guy anyway? I tried to rack my brain at where he could be and couldn't remember where I last saw him.
Anyways, throwing the useless thoughts aside I pulled the tug out as I pulled the comparatively much larger room to hook up behind it. In hindsight I might have spent a bit more time on constructing the thing, maybe make an enclosed cockpit so I didn't have to deal with the water pulling at my face. Or big enough that the large room being tugged behind it wouldn't be what limited the vehicle.
I shook my head frustrated, it was all about optimizations. I had wanted to be fast, meaning a low power to weight ratio. But that meant small size which meant more drag from the towed items. It was futile trying to find the perfect mix of vehicle.
With the habitation area setup I opened the door, it was already flooded which was fine. I would pump it out when I stuffed the sardines in. Speaking of, the smallest was here now.
She floated next to me as I wrapped her in an arm. I was wearing my mask so no kisses from me, else I would have. As it was I just pushed her in and she quickly realized what the room was. If the rest of the sardines didn't show up soon I was going to leave without them.
Having only the one girl with me actually sounded much better then dragging her mother along or the one male along. Much less of a hassle as well. No doubt the guy would get frisky in the back while I was out piloting what equated to a super powered submarine motorcycle.
Not to mention there would be much less room to sleep on the bed in there. That thought really had me pushing my timetable up from lunch to in a few minutes. I was not looking forward to having all of us crammed in here.
So once I had to the stasis pod secured I ushered my wife back into the room and set it to start draining as I started up the tug.
My little attempts at adjusting the engine power while crude earned me the joyous feeling of actually moving incredibly quickly, which is quite a foreign feeling when underwater. I smiled as I buzzed the edge of the rock formations I had initially found the mermaids in. I am glad no one could hear my maniacal laughter as I sped past at a much faster pace than I arrived at.
Not long after I arrived where I killed the giant octopus. I slowed down as I admired how the place changed without the big Kalamari around. Was calamari even made with octopus? I had zero clue but I told myself if I got off this planet I would find an old traditional restaurant and try some.
I pushed forward on the throttle scattering the countless fish that had swarmed the area now. I wonder how the crabs are doing? I almost couldn't wait until I saw them they were cute when they tried to claw my battle sub. But they didn't swim so they couldn't reach and thus I didn't kill them.
I forgot how boring the ocean was sometimes, sure there was fish everywhere but the landscape.. well with the way the currents moved in some places the water would grind away any interesting landmarks.
The sun went down and I kept on, but soon I felt a chill. The water was cooling quickly, not even my wetsuit could keep me warm from this kind of chill. That was my sign to stop for the night, I closed the throttle stopping the thrust but letting us drift forward until our momentum drained.
Getting into the habitation pod was... interesting. I had forgot I left it to drain before and when I opened it I was sucked in as the water rushed in to fill the space with me. Right, tow it without draining it first next time. I had tiny little fishes in every tiny crevice it seemed like but after some work we had the bed all to our selves, and only one fish to be seen. And let me tell you she was a very nice bed... Well more like body pillow since she was too small to be a bed.
I skirted the kelp forest as I had previously. A week, that's how long I had been traveling. Don't get me wrong I was making GREAT time, but I wasn't able to enjoy the travel as I had on the way there. I don't remember exactly how long I had spent getting there but to get here took me a month at least. At this rate it would take me only a single month to get back to base...
As long as nothing happened that is... Like say a giant lobster fighting the crabs on the seafloor. Which would be fine, but if I remembered right... lobsters could swim.
Or was it jump? I don't remember either way the rear ends sure look they could flap and put some serious effort into reaching us. If it was my battle sub I'd have stayed and watched the titans fight, but I was in a hurry.
Luckily they didn't even seem to pass us a glance as we passed through. As much as I liked the crabs I didn't want to stop in their field for the night, so I didn't stop until we were well out of sight.
My prediction about the timetable was good. Or at least I think it was. I had forgotten my clock again. So I don't know exactly how long I spent traveling. But it was less mentally demanding with the company with me. Even if we couldn't understand each other our bodies had a lot to say. Especially as she had got hit by that incredibly lustful time of the month for her. The mating season, so we did take a break for her to be properly satisfied. I left with her a belly just as big I had originally expanded her to, it was a great time for all involved.
But despite my eagerness to be done traveling I pulled a long arcing path up to the moonpool admiring how the skull of the massive beast I slain was no longer pearly white, but was now obviously the ground for life to flourish attracting many fish I had never seen before. I would collect a few of the more color full ones and put them with the collection of interesting fish. Later though, I needed to sort out the woman first.
Letting my craft drift I let go watching as the moonpool snatched it up straight out of the water. I then opened the habitation pod that had become detached in the process. My cute fish wife swam out, she had been cooped up this entire time, so she was swimming around with energy.
But really letting her out was so I could stuff the room into the moonpool as well, it would detect the Stasis pod as that was a standard blueprint and scrap the habitation pod it was attached to for me. I was NOT going anywhere in a single towable room ever again. I want an actual place I can walk around be warm dry maybe an auto pilot. And definitely some armor.
After a few minutes of watching my wife swim around with energy she swam back to me eager to explore the area.
I pulled her up through the moon pool, she had only seen the one room I had made before so all of this was new to her.
I showed off my bedroom first of course, and second.... and last... ok all we did was fuck that day. I had been holding back because I had been spending all day piloting the little tug for the past month, so it was stress relief for me. And her expressions showed she didn't hate the extended sessions.
But we ended the day cuddling as I vowed to give her a proper tour of the place, after I stuffed the stasis pod into the medical room.
What's next?
A ship crashed
A lone man crashes on a seemingly empty planet.
Traveling alone through space the man crashes on a watery planet that he is alone on. Surviving is what he does, but he has needs. Why does that fish have massive tits? I had no name for this story and decided to just be descriptive with it, so keep an eye on it.
