Doe stood up slowly and went into your arms, leaning her head into your chest. "I love you too lad..."
You just stood there, letting her speak. However, on the inside, your heart was beating a million beats a minute, this was the first time she ever said she loved you after all.
"I would be lying to both of us if I didn't admit that. But... you've only been back for a little over a month. And even though I know it isn't, a part of me is worried that it might just be puppy love. You know how much that asshole hurt me." She paused, seemingly unsure of how to continue.
"Hey, hey now Doe. Sorry if I got a little intense there, I suppose things have been moving a little fast... but they just feel right to me."
A small smile lit up on Doe's face as she looked up into yours. "Aye, they feel right to me as well. And I have been a lot happier since you've been here."
"Well maybe I should make you REALLY happy."
"And how are you going to do that?"
You whisper in Doe's ear, "I'm gonna take you upstairs and cuddle you so hardcore all... night... long..."
Doe let out a surprised giggle, "Such a teddy bear. You better not let go though!"
