Better than feared, but there is still a lot of work to do

You expected the office to be rundown and dusty. It has been years since the last time it was used. But when you enter the building, you are surprised how clean everything is. There is only a thin layer of dust everywhere. It looks like around one or two months ago somebody cleaned the whole office. The color on the walls is mostly intact, only a few spots could use a new coat of paint. Even the old curved front desk is still there. But that is the only piece of furniture that is still around. And it is screwed in the floor, so you assume it was just too much work to get it away.

You worry a little when you think about how much of the money from the founding you will have to invest in furniture and equipment. You don’t want to take another loan from the bank. However, the office itself is really great. It has as entrance room with the desk, a small waiting room, two rooms for medical examination of the patients, a room which you think was once used for patients to stay overnight if necessary, a small, specially prepared storage room for medicine and Vaccines and an office room for the doctor. Your own office. In your old hospital, you only had a small table in your mentor’s office.

You also take a look at the basement, but it is very small. It seems there is a morgue installed. You assume it was necessary to have a temporary place for the dead. There is no small equipment left, but the lockers for the bodies and the metal examination table is still there.

Next you go to the apartment in the first floor. It is as clean as the office, but has much more furniture. A double bed, several cabinets and shelves, a whole kitchen with a fridge and an older electric oven, a couch and table with four chairs. This is a good start. You have to get some more things but you guess after a short cleanup you can already start living here.

There also is an attic above the apartment, but it is empty. Only an old chest is in a corner but it is empty too. Well, at least you will have some storage space available. You are already on your way back, when you suddenly hear the bell to the office ring. It is connected to the normal house bell. You wonder who might that be.
