Chapter 12
by cloudengz
How does the rest of the day go?
Normally
As she stood up from the couch, Bianca's eyes drifted towards the TV, and she felt a sudden urge to lose herself in the mindless chatter of a reality show. She walked over to the coffee table, picked up the remote control, and began to scroll through the channels, her fingers moving listlessly over the buttons. The sounds of the TV filled the room, a cacophony of laughter, music, and argumentative voices that seemed to wash over her like a soothing balm. She settled on a show about housewives, the over-the-top drama and catty comments a welcome distraction from the turmoil brewing inside her.
As the TV droned on, Bianca's mind began to wander back to the events of the past morning. She felt a pang of guilt and anxiety, and suddenly, she needed to talk to someone. Her eyes drifted towards her phone, and she picked it up, scrolling through her contacts until she landed on Sarah's name. She hesitated for a moment, wondering if she should burden her best friend with her secrets, but something about the familiar sound of Sarah's voice made her feel like she could confess anything.
Bianca's thumbs moved swiftly over the screen as she typed out a text message. "Hey girl, need to talk to you about something. Can you talk?"
As she waited for Sarah to respond, Bianca's eyes drifted back to the TV, where a group of impeccably dressed women were arguing over a perceived slight at a dinner party. The sound of their raised voices and clinking glasses filled the room, a stark contrast to the anxious silence that had settled over Bianca's apartment just moments before. She felt a twinge of envy towards the women on screen, their lives seemingly perfect and drama-filled, but not in a way that felt suffocating or shameful.
Bianca's gaze lingered on the TV for a moment longer, before her attention was drawn back to her phone, which buzzed softly on the couch cushion beside her.
Bianca's eyes dropped to the screen, her gaze scanning the message from Sarah. "What's up? I'm at class, but I can talk for a bit," the response read. Bianca's thumbs flew across the screen as she typed out a reply, her mind racing with the words she wanted to say. "It's about a guy," she began, her fingers hesitating over the screen as she wondered how much to reveal. "I need to talk to you about what happened this morning."
As she waited for Sarah to respond, Bianca's gaze drifted back to the TV, where the housewives were now engaged in a heated argument over a perceived betrayal.
Bianca's eyes remained fixed on the TV, the sound of the housewives' argument creating a sense of detachment from her own problems. She felt a sense of relief wash over her as she waited for Sarah's response, her mind momentarily distracted from the guilt and anxiety that had been plaguing her. The TV screen flickered, casting a pale glow over the room, as Bianca's gaze drifted towards the clock on the wall. 3:47 PM. She had just over two hours before she was supposed to meet Robert.
As she waited for Sarah's response, Bianca's fingers drummed a beat on the couch cushion, her nails clicking softly against the fabric.
The phone buzzed softly in her hand, and Bianca's heart skipped a beat as she saw Sarah's name flash on the screen. She took a deep breath, her fingers moving swiftly to open the message. "What happened?"
Bianca's thumbs moved swiftly over the screen, her fingers trembling as she typed out her confession. "I messed up. I cheated on Robert." She hit send, her heart pounding in her chest as she waited for Sarah's response.
Sarah's reply came quickly, "What? When? Who with?" Bianca took a deep breath, her mind racing as she tried to figure out how to explain the situation. She typed out a response, "This morning. With a guy I just met. I don't know what I was thinking. I feel so guilty."
Bianca's heart raced as she waited for Sarah's response. She clutched the phone tightly in her hand, her fingers trembling as she waited for the three little dots to appear on the screen, indicating that Sarah was typing.
"Oh my god, Bianca. What were you thinking?" Sarah's message read.
Bianca's thumbs moved swiftly over the screen as she typed out a reply. "I don't know. I'm so sorry. I regret it already."
Bianca's heart raced as she waited for Sarah's response. She clutched the phone tightly in her hand, her fingers trembling as she waited for the three little dots to appear on the screen, indicating that Sarah was typing.
"I need to know everything," Sarah's message read.
Bianca took a deep breath, her mind racing as she tried to figure out how to explain the situation. She typed out a response, "I met him on campus. I was walking and ran into him and somehow tore my dress and he helped me cover up and walked me home. One thing led to another and he fucked me on my couch."
Bianca's mind was flooded with a mix of emotions. She felt guilty for betraying Robert's trust, but she also couldn't ignore the fact that she had enjoyed the attention and excitement of her encounter with Tyrese.
Bianca's eyes widened as she read Sarah's next message, her mind racing with the implications of her actions. "Did you use protection?" the message read. Bianca's thumbs hovered over the screen, her heart sinking as she realized the gravity of her mistake. She typed out a single word, her fingers trembling as she hit send. "No."
The phone seemed to slip in her hand, Bianca's palm growing sweaty as she waited for Sarah's response. The TV screen flickered, the housewives' argument now a distant hum in the background. Bianca's gaze was fixed on the screen, her eyes scanning the words as they appeared. "Bianca, what were you thinking?!"
Bianca's heart raced as she read Sarah's response, "Don't tell Robert." She let out a sigh of relief, knowing that Sarah would help her navigate through this situation. "I wasn't thinking, it just kind of happened. I'm going to meet Robert in two hours," Bianca texted back.
Sarah's reply came quickly, "Just act normal, and don't do anything stupid. We'll figure it out later." Bianca's fingers trembled as she typed out a response, "Thanks, Sarah. I'll talk to you later."
