A day like any other

Ann was running late, as usual. She never wakes up on time, and coupled with her particularly lengthy morning routine, it’s not uncommon for her to miss a train. Or two. It’s not her fault. Not like she can cut down on her morning routine. She has standards after all.

Looking up at the trains schedule, Ann realizes it’s going to be a few minutes. Not a great day, since Joker wanted to head to Mementos after school today. Ann was hoping she could get to school early for some yakisoba pan from the store, since she wouldn’t have time after school. Oh well, not much she can do about it now.

Ann leans against a column, scrolling through texts. Ryuji is on about some big new idea to make the Phantom Thieves more popular again. Same old, same old.

Then, out of the corner of her eye, Ann notices something off. A woman, running across the train platform. And she’s…she’s naked? Ann can’t look away, as the woman laughs and scampers along. Something about how carefree she is about it all. The woman isn’t particularly attractive or ugly, just a regular woman, yet as she runs, tailed by a pair of train station attendants trying to stop her, Ann can’t help but crack a smile. A true act of rebellion. That woman has more guts than even Joker. Ann wonders what it would be like to be so rebellious in the face of what’s considered “right” and “appropriate”.

Little does Ann know, is that this would trigger a change in her cognition, making her regret ever seeing this woman.

Ann finally boards the train that approaches, as the woman runs out of view.
