They get to know each other

Claire was a mess all over again and felt like she had just reached the last level of her favorite dungeon crawler just to be nuked by the final boss and sent back to start with nothing to show. Claire had hoped that Veronica could not feel how sweaty her hands were as she held her sweet maidens hand. Veronica led Claire up the stairs and into the projector room to allow them the most privacy. Claire noticed that the projector room was well furnished with a couch, mini fridge and even its own television.

Veronica sat down first on the couch and said, “Now you know how the magic happens. Hopefully, it doesn’t take away from your movie experience. I just wanted somewhere private we could talk just the two of us.” She patted the couch for Claire to have a seat.

Claire sat down as far away as possible and said, “I was always curious since most media nowadays is digital and actual film is pretty rare for movies.” Claire lost her train of thought as Veronica scooted closer to her and stared into her maiden’s eyes. “…So…what did you need to speak about with me in private?” She asked her while looking away and taping her hands on her knees.

Veronica let out a very soft chuckle and said, “Well…first off let’s start with introductions. You may know my first name but I can actually let you know my full name is Veronica Perez. It’s nice to meet you.” She offered Claire her hand as Claire made sure to wipe her hand of sweat before shaking Veronica’s. It felt nice touching her soft palms and her grip made her heart flutter.

Veronica’s aquamarine eyes pierced Claire’s very being like a lance breaking through a flimsy wooden shield of the many enemies she struck down. Her smile and soft expression waited to hear a proper introduction from her knight. Claire swallowed her saliva and finally enchanted herself with a potion of courage to say, “It’s a fine honor to meet you, fair maiden. My name is Claire Espinoza, protector of this realm.” Claire couldn’t believe she tried to do an accent but pretending to be her favorite heroine gave her courage to talk to someone she was absolutely smitten with.

Veronica chuckled and didn’t miss a beat, “My chivalrous knight, it is my pleasure to make your acquaintance. Your kind words have strung the sweetest melody on my heart strings. I only wished to be acquainted with you further.” Claire was falling deeper and deeper into the pool that was Veronica Perez and watching her eyes shine with furious passion as she portrayed the love interest of the knight made Claire want one more minute, even one more second with her. Claire was about to continue their playful banter when a song from Veronica’s cell phone quieted both girls. Reality had set back in and Veronica’s break was almost up.
