Chapter 3 by Corgi Corgi

Which Superhero/heroine is first

Wonder Woman

The auditorium was packed, the air thick with anticipation. People had travelled from out of state to see the speech. Wonder Woman stood at the podium, her Amazonian features illuminated by the spotlight. Despite her formidable presence, she radiated an aura of warmth and approachability. She was resplendent in her costume, the tight corset like red, white, and blue uniform she typically wore, tiara adorning her forehead.

The crowd was a mix of college students, fans, and other civilians, all eager to hear from the iconic heroine. Some whispered excitedly, while others leaned forward in their seats, enthralled by the breathtaking Wonder Woman. A few even had tears in their eyes, clearly moved by the gravity of the occasion.

Diana took a breath, her eyes scanning the crowd. She had been invited to speak on the topic of feminism, a cause close to her heart. As an Amazon, a Superhero, and even in her secret identity, she had fought alongside countless women in battle, recognizing their strength and potential long before the rest of the world did.

"Thank you all for this incredible opportunity," Diana began, her voice projecting effortlessly through the microphone. "I'm honored to be here, sharing my perspective on a topic that means so much to me."

The crowd applauded, and Diana let the moment linger, allowing her words to sink in. She had a story to tell, one that would challenge and inspire.

"When I was growing up on Themyscira," Diana began, "we didn't have a word for feminism. We simply lived it, every day. My mother, my sister Amazonians – they were all powerful women, both fierce warriors and wise leaders. They taught me that strength and compassion are not mutually exclusive, that a woman can be both gentle and might, nurturing and forceful."

Diana paused, letting her words hang in the air. The crowd was silent, hanging on her every word.

"But I know that not all women have had the same opportunities," Diana continued. "I've seen the struggles my sister, Donna Troy, and so many other super-heroines have faced trying to break into a male-dominated field. I've witnessed the inequality that permeates so many aspects of society, from the workplace to the halls of power."

As she spoke, Diana's tone grew more impassioned. She wanted the audience to feel her conviction, to understand the depth of her belief in the importance of feminism.

"Feminism is not about diminishing men," Diana emphasized. "It's about elevating women, recognizing their worth and potential. It's about breaking down the barriers that have kept us marginalized for too long. It's about creating a world where every individual can thrive, regardless of their gender."

Diana's words resonated through the auditorium, touching hearts and minds. The crowd erupted into applause, but Diana held up a hand, silencing them.

"I know the path ahead is not easy," Diana acknowledged, her emerald eyes meeting those of her audience. "Change requires courage, both within and without. It demands that we challenge the status quo, that we stand up for what is right, even when it's inconvenient or unpopular."

She paused, her gaze sweeping over the sea of faces.

"But I also know that change is possible," Diana continued, her voice rising with conviction. "I've seen it firsthand, time and again. I've seen women rise up, break barriers, and prove that they are every bit as strong, intelligent, and capable as any man. And I know that each and every one of you in this room has the power to be part of that change."

Murmurs of agreement came from the audience, a testament to Diana's impact. But she wasn't done yet.

"I urge you," Diana concluded, her voice rising to a crescendo, "don't just listen to the words. Go out into the world and live them. Be fierce, be compassionate, be unapologetically yourself. Raise your sisters up. Encourage them, and yourself, to be the best version of you that you can. Because when we do that, we don't just empower ourselves – we empower every woman who came before us, and every girl who will come after us. We create a ripple effect that can change the world."

As Diana stepped away from the podium, the crowd erupted into cheers. She offered a smile as she walked off the stage, proud of her accomplishments this day.

As Wonder Woman stepped off the stage after delivering her speech on feminism, she was immediately surrounded by a throng of enthusiastic students. They clamored for photos, autographs, and just a chance to speak with the heroine.

Amidst the chaos, a young woman with red hair and a determined expression pushed her way to the front. "Excuse me, Wonder Woman!" she called, waving a notebook. "I'm a student in women's studies – my professor recommended I interview you for my project on modern feminist icons. Would you have time for a brief interview?"

Wonder Woman looked down at the eager young woman. There was a familiar spark in her eyes, a hunger for knowledge and truth that the Amazon warrior recognized. She felt a deep sense of responsibility to the younger generation, to pass on the lessons she had learned in her long life.

Checking the time, Wonder Woman sighed, and nodded her willingness to participate. She supposed she had time for one quick interview.

Internally, Model Citizen chuckled. This was almost too easy....

What happens in or after the interview?
