Living alone

"Ahhh," Sae sighed. She had just finished an excruciating work week. It was one of many spent working on an upcoming case. After spending what must have been 100 hours gathering intel, Sae had managed to prove her client's innocence, saving them from decades of unjust incarceration. It felt good except for the back pain she received from sitting at a desk for weeks. Her firm offered her a small vacation after doing such good work. She almost didn't take it, but after getting home, her exhaustion fully caught up to her, and Sae realized it would be better for her health if she stayed out of the office for a few days.

Currently Sae was washing away her fatigue in a warm bath. With the warm water relaxing her muscles and some bath salts stimulating her skin, Sae already felt like she was back to 100%. Still, she had decided to lounge about in the bathtub a little longer. It would be a few more hours before she decided to finally get out.

"I needed that." Sae stated as she stood up, her body gleaming from the soapy water. She carefully stepped out of the tub and grabbed a nearby hand towel to dry her hair. After getting her hair good and dry, Sae hung the small towel around her neck and exited the showering area for the bathroom proper. She marched over to the cabinet to grab a regular towel only to make an unfortunate realization.

"Damn it, how could I be so forgetful." Sae said as she looked through the empty cabinet. "I was supposed to do laundry today after I got home. Crap."

Sae facepalmed then grabbed the hand towel resting on her shoulders and tried to use that to dry off her body. As she did Sar reflected on how her homelife had been troubled lately. A few months earlier Sae's little sister Mikoto and moved out of the apartment to start attending college and had gotten her own place with one of her friends, Haru. While Sae had been sad to see her sister going after living together for so long a part of her was happy to not have to take care of her any longer. That didn’t last long however as she soon realized how useful it had been to have an extra pair of hands around the house. Small things she regularly asked Mikoto to do while she was working were now simply going undone until Sae remembered them. After long after they needed to be done like washing clothes or doing dishes. It was taking the attorney far longer than expected to get in step with being on alone and for the maturity presenting Sea that was pretty depressing.

"Maybe this time off will help get some chore patterns down." Sae said as she bent down to dry her legs. "I did most of the work when Mikoto was still little. I can do it again."

Now as dry as she could get Sae hung the damp hand towel back around her neck and walked towards the door. She cracked it open and peaked outside. Sae knew it was absurd to do this considering she now lived alone however she didn't stop. After confirming that the coast was obviously clear she came out and marched down the hall towards her room. There were only about 10 steps between Sae's room and the bathroom. She only made it 8 when a loud bell started chiming.

"Ahhh," Sae screamed throwing her arms over her privates. For a minute the thought she'd been caught, but when the bell rang for a second time, Sae recognized it. It was the chime of her laptop. The lawyer sighed and dropped her hands. She really needed to calm down. Then her laptop chimed a third time and Sae made another realization. That specific chime was meant to specify work emails.

"Could something have happened with the case?" Sae wondered turning towards her living room. If something happened if new evidence turned up or a retrial was requested, it could put her client in a real bind. Without much thought to her current circumstances Sae turned around and hurried into her living room. Her bare feet slapped loudly against the hardwood floors.

Sae pulled out a chair from the dining room table and sat down before she began furiously typing on her laptop. She logged in and quickly opened her email. A smile emerged on Sae face. She didn't need a vacation. The bath was enough. She was rearing and ready to go. However, when she opened the new email from work, she was grossly disappointed. The email was nothing but an after-action report. A synopsis of the details of the closed case emailed to the whole office. She didn't even need to read it. After all she had written it. So much for going back to work.

Sae grumped to herself disappointed before closing her eyes and crossing her arms in a kind of acceptance. It was then, as skin touched skin, that Sae remembered something.

"I'm still naked!" Sae screeched as she covered her chest with her arms instinctively. She was casually sitting down in her birthday suit like some kinda pervert. Or at least that's how Sae saw it. The Lawyer's face turned red, and, again, Sae looked around to confirm she was alone. Wordlessly Sae stood up and headed for her room, really ready to put some clothes on, when she was stopped by another chiming sound. The sound of her oven.

"Are you kidding me." Sae growled. Before taking her bath, she had aced her Dinner in the oven knowing it would take a good bit of time to cook. However, due to her taking an extra-long bath and the email situation. Not wanting her grilled tofu to burn Sae decided to again postpone getting dressed until after pulling her food from the oven.

The naked Sae stomped into the kitchen, put on a oven mitt, and leaned down to open the oven. She opened the oven, waves of heat blasting her exposed body, and Sae very, VERY carefully reached in and pulled out the sheet of tofu. After placing the sheet on the counter and stripping off the mitt, Sae was finally ready to get back to her room. However, the grey-haired woman caught a whiff of the grilled tofu and was instantly hooked.

"God that smells good." She spoke. Sae felt her stomach rumbling. She had skipped lunch earlier, so she was extremely hungry. Sae looked down at her tofu, then over towards the hall leading to her room and clothes, then back down at the tofu, over at the dinner table.

"Well," Sae said biting her lip and grabbing her elbow. "I am alone."
