Why not mind-to-mind?

There is the physical, (the brain), and the non-physical OR whatever comprises the mind. What I understand is being proposed would be the following path: Your mind - Target's brain - Target's mind. If the path was Your mind - Target's mind, then it would require less ****, since you wouldn't be affecting the physical realm, and it would be safer since you'd be dropping patterns into the aether instead of altering someone's brain. I've had dreams, that I was unsure of the nonreality of later on; is this any different?

The biggest RISK of mind-to-mind is that it could become a two-way street if the mind you encouter is strong enough. Even so, I'd prefer the mind-to-mind version
