A rather stupid wish.

Looking around you yell out, “Ok real funny, come on out.” But there is no reply, “Hell, this is stupid. Ok you got me, ha, ha, pick on the fat guy that wants to go to a concert, ha, ha. Fuck you ok, ya I would like to be skinny, and able to just buy some stupid costume but I can't ok. Fuck you. I am out of here. I don't want to be here at all anymore. I just want out.”

“That is your wish?” The voice asks.

“Whatever, fuck off. Yea I want to get the fuck out of here.”

“You don't wish your body anymore.”

“No I don't want to be fat, who does. I said whatever, you win fuck off I am going.”

“As you wish. You are going away.” As the voice says this a crack rips open in the floor, a pair of rubbery black tentacles rise up and wrap your legs causing you to scream. Reaching down you pry at them to rip them off of you, but as you look they seem to slip past your skin and into your legs. Screaming you try to clutch at them when suddenly you are pulled down through the ground, right out of your body. They pull you down deeper and deeper into the earth till finally you are freed and find yourself surrounded by darkness. The image of the dream flashes in your mind of being fucked by demons, suddenly thinking that it might have been a premonition of things to come.

“What is going on?” You say out loud, but there is no sound, somehow you can tell you spoke, but there is no noise at all.

To your surprise a voice answers your question with one of their own, “Hey, what are you doing here?”

“What, who is there? Where am I? Why can't I hear myself talking?”

“Because you don't have ears.” The voice answers, “Or a mouth for that matter.” As it talks you can tell it is getting closer, “You are just a blob of energy. Why are you in the nether realm energy blob? Why don't you have a body?” The voice in the darkness asks. You can tell it is coming from right beside you, but you have no idea why that is.

“I don't know, I was grabbed by tentacles I think.”

The voice makes a clucking sound of someone thinking, “You should have a body.”

“That's great, but I don't know what is going on. How can we be talking if I don't have a body?”

“Telepathy of course. You know someone is going to figure out a way to eat you if you stay here much longer. You should head to the city of the spire and see if someone there can get you a body. Oh, or you could just slide right into one as someone else dies, that usually works for spirits. You are kinda like a spirit. Did you die?”

“I don't think so, like I said I was grabbed by tentacles. I guess they ripped me out of my body.” Saying it sounds so stupid, but then again, it does sorta feel true.

“Looks like it. Now go get yourself a body or like I said, someone is going to figure out a way to eat you. Heck if I knew how I might even do it myself.” The voice apparently finds this very funny as it laughs for quite a while, before finally answering your continued questions of how, “How, well I already said how, just go to either the city of the spire and try to find help or jump in a recently vacated body as it drops. Easy.” Then after a few seconds it asks, “Wait don't you even know how to move?”

“Not really no.”

“Wow you are new, what were you human before or something?” Then after a gasp, “No shit really. Well then you are in for some surprises. Did you even know the nether realm existed?”

“Not a clue, no.”

“Ya, well sadly I am a in a bit of a hurry or I'd be happy to give you some lessons, but sadly I have a boss that will most likely eat my brains if I am late. Ok, all I can tell you is what I have heard from spirits. You have to think of your destination and you will go there. You are a blob of mental energy after all. Most things you meet will be able to sense your thoughts like me so you can talk to them, but be careful, I am sure there are a lot of things out there that will know how to eat you. It would be easier to just jump in a body. Think real hard about seeing people and you should be able to sense their aura, most spirits can, and you are pretty close to a spirit I think, at least you smell like one. Then watch till you see a light flicker and go out, that is someone either passing on, dying, or snapping back to their realm. Some people can travel to other realms in a form like yours, astral projection, there they manifest a temporary body if they need it. They dissolve in nearly an instant but I have heard of spirits hijacking these to use. It is a really good idea really. Then once you have a body I still suggest the city of the spire, there are priests and stuff there that might help you get back to earth. Anyway good luck, like I said, I gotta go.”

With that the voice trails off getting farther and farther away. You aren't sure how you know it left, but you sorta could feel it. Concentrating on that, you try to do as instructed when slowly you start to see misty forms of energy, all sorts of colors, all around you, most not very close, but there are some. Most things around must not be able to sense your presence, you figure, or they just don't give a shit. You have no idea who or what any of the energies belong to, but at least it is a start. Trying the second idea you try to concentrate on the city of the spire, as he called it. Sure enough even though you have no idea where or what this place is, you do get a sense that just knowing the name is enough to travel there. “I guess I am a blob of mental energy after all.” You say, not sure if you really are saying anything or thinking anything to yourself or someone else, you aren't quite sure how to tell the difference.
