Chapter 14 by latexdoll latexdoll

Gamble, or quick in and out?

A little blackjack.

You really have no idea how you are supposed to go about doing this without looking like some kind of criminal unless you do some gambling. Walking up to a $100 minimum bet blackjack table, you simply drop the stack of hundreds on the table. The dealer is an Asian gentleman that is well groomed, and a bit attractive you have to admit, before the thought of it makes you ill. The first hand is of course a loss, and you can't help but start to panic as your black chip is swept away. Playing a hundred a hand is nerve wracking but you seem to be staying right around twenty chips, never quite getting back up or loosing much more. Then the dealer hands you a pair of two's with a six showing, looks at you, and asks, “Split?”

Nervously you push forward a second chip and say, “Yes, split.” He flops down another two and looks at you pointing. “Split again.” Pushing a third chip. This one he sets down a nine giving you eleven. Your gut is clenching but tells you to double and you do. He sets down a five and your heart sinks. Then impossibly he sets another nine, again you double, this time an eight comes out giving you nineteen. The third hand produces a nine again so now feeling genuinely sick you double down, now having six hundred dollars on the table. He plops down another nine giving you twenty. Turning over his card he reveals a five, your heart sinks deeper, reaching he pulls a card, turns it over, a two, then another, a ten. You can't help but squeal and leap from your seat with a single loud laugh. Scooping up the chips when he pays you, you run from the table gleefully and cash out. Once again you stand there with a wad of money, which now really feels like a bad idea. You make your way to the gift shop to find something to put it all in. You quickly find a thin small black purse that the tag says has a steel cable in the strap to protect against theft, after tax it is just over two hundred dollars, but considering your win, and how much you are carrying, you buy it.

Everything paid for and your cash tucked in your new purse, you step out of the casino. Looking left and right, you suddenly realize something. You have no idea what to do now. Sure you have almost three thousand dollars, but all you have to your name is a single outfit a purse, and cash. No job, no place to live, and no ride. A valet walks up to you, “Need me to get your car?”

What are you going to do?
