Ignorance is Bliss

As curious as you are, the possibilities are too gruesome to comprehend, and you decide that it might provide too much of a distraction for you at a critical moment in the mission. You decide against knowing what happened.

"Fair enough," said Smithers. "If you ever want to know, just tell me."

"What I want to know is what is going on with me," you say.

"It's just as I feared, Alex. The nanobots were not designed to work in someone such as yourself, and there have been some unanticipated consequences."

"What kind of consequences?"

"As nearly as we can tell, the little guys are supercharged, feeding off of your already-heightened adolescent sexual energy. That means that by just sitting around, doing nothing in particular, these guys are on a feeding frenzy that causes them to generate even more sexual energy."

You consider this for a moment. "So that's why I was getting turned on so easily back in the office?"

Smithers nods. "Exactly. Unless they adjust to you, and there's no sign that they will, you can count on being half-turned on at all times."

You nod, considering this. "But that's not what happened back there. It was more than just being turned on. I was going out of my mind!"

Smithers continues. "That's the problem. Once you start getting turned on, the nanobots start working even harder. If the cycle isn't stopped, it could be catastrophic."

"What do you mean, 'if the cycle isn't stopped?'"

"Alex, this is all theoretical, but let me tell you what we think is happening. Once you start to get aroused, it begins a frenzied cycle for the nanobots. You have a very short amount of time, once that happens, to calm yourself down. Cold shower -- think about dead puppies -- pinch yourself -- whatever it takes, you need to stop yourself from getting a full erection."

"And if I can't stop myself?" you ask, realizing that you've never had much luck controlling your penis.

"Once you get to full erection state, the nanobots MUST expend their energy immediately. Otherwise, they will take over your mind, and soon after that, your body won't be able to handle it anymore."

Smithers pulled up a graphic on his computer to help explain.

"Think of it this way... Once you get an erection, you have about 3-5 minutes to release the energy yourself. In other words, you can masterbate and cause yourself to have an ejaculation. The ejaculation is the trigger for the nanobots to release their energy."

"What happens if I can't just drop everything and jack off on 3 minutes' notice," you ask.

Smithers looks grim. "After 3-5 minutes, you will not be able to trigger a release on your own. At that stage, the nanobots will have become so charged that they must release into another person. Well, technically, another living thing, but I won't bring up animals at this stage."

You shoot Smithers a wild-eyed look. "What are you talking about? You mean I'm going to have to go screw some girl if I have a boner for more than a couple of minutes?"

Smithers nods. "Yes. Although it doesn't have to be a girl. Like I said, it just needs to be another living thing."

You hold up both hands, "Hey, wait a minute. I'm totally straight. I don't do guys -- let alone animals."

Smithers explains. "I know that's not your preference, but once these things get to this stage, you don't have a lot of control of yourself. Believe me, the longer you go in this charged state, the less discriminating you will be."

"And what happens if I don't find someone to fuck?"

Smithers hesitated and then said, "After 10-15 minutes at the heightened stage, your body will not be able to contain all of this sexual energy. You will die."

You sit back and close your eyes. This is a LOT to take in.
