An employee stops them

“Ma’am?” A woman with a red shirt called out approaching them.

Helen stopped as she turned to see the Target employee catching up to them. “Is something wrong?”

“Not at all,” the employee said. “I’m Christina and I’m the manager of this location. I noticed you were making purchases of our nighttime pull-ups.”

Alexa’s face burned red.

“Yeah,” Helen said.

“Well, we have a deal right now where if you get the nighttime extra absorbent diapers, you get a package of daytime diapers completely for free,” Christina said. “Let me show you over here.”

Alexa gasped as Christina led them back down the diaper aisle. She picked up the pull-ups Helen had put in the cart and replaced with them with a large pink package. It had a pacifier on the front and read EXTRA ABSORBENT in bold.

She then turned and picked up another large package this one was purple and had a little sun on the front. “Thank you so much,” Helen said. “These are perfect.”

Christina smiled. “Let me lead you to our registers. I’ll have my daughter check you all out so you can get out of here,” Christina said.

Alexa followed and gasped as she saw Charlie standing behind the register. Her face went white, all the purchases handled by Charlie. It was humiliating.
