Trouble with a capital “T"

A group of students had crossed the street and were perhaps twenty feet from me. For a moment I wondered whether I could get across before I was spotted.

No such luck. “Hey!” a voice cried out. They were all guys and, of course, one of them recognized me from earlier. He quickly closed the distance until he was about two feet from me. In a more conversational tone he continued, “I was wondering where you might have went.”

“A little cold to be dressed like that, isn’t it?” he asked, checking me out openly. I didn’t answer, this was definitely out of my comfort zone. “Not feeling very talkative, huh? You working tonight honey?” Shit! He thought I was hooker.

“It’s not like that,” I blurted out?

“Not like what sweetcheeks?” another of the guys asked. They were all stepping closer and I counted five in all.

“I’m not a whore. Somebody took my clothes and I couldn’t find anything else.” I wasn’t sure why I was explaining myself to these creeps. I had been embarrassed when Dee and the others caught me spying, and more than a little horny. But right now all I was trying to do was get across the street.

“An interesting story, but I saw you walking the streets earlier,” the first guy observed.

“What!? I was just trying... to uh, uh.” Fuck! I didn’t want to tell these guys I’d tried to go home but turned back.

“To what, darling?”

“Nothing, I was just out walking.”

“Dressed like that? After someone took all your clothes?” yet another guy chimed in skeptically.

“Look baby,” the second guy said, “We’re not going to hurt you. We just thought you looked like someone who’d like to party a little. If you’re trying to get somewhere we can give you a lift,” he gestured in the direction of a small parking lot across from the convenience store.
