"Oh really? How do you figure?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

"You clearly have faith that you will actually be successful with girls, when all reason keeps telling you otherwise," she snarked at him.

"...ouch," he winced. "You've got a sharp wit Annette... Shame your balance is dull," he quipped right back.

"Hey, I'll have you know, I'm just having an off day!" Annette protested.

"...more so than usual?" Sylvain raised an eyebrow, making her go beet red.

"Sh-shut it!" she whined. She only pouted further as Slyvain started laughing. "What are you even here for?" she asked him. "Wait, let me guess, hitting on the librarian?"

"Actually, no, I came to study as well," Sylvain replied. "...do try not to look so surprised," he pouted at Annette's staring at him.

"Isn't this usually the time of day you run poor Ingrid ragged?" she asked as he took a seat.

"I decided to give her a break. How are your studies going?"

"Fine," she grunted. "Though I'm having trouble remembering some things..."

"Hmm, maybe try reading one paragraph at a time, then pausing to recite it in your head to commit it to memory?" he asked.

She blinked, before giving it a try. "... huh, I think that's actually helpful... Who knew you had it in you Slyvain?" she teased.

He just gave her another pout as she giggled and continued.
