Quiet night out

I decided that I wasn’t in the mood for such strenuous physical activity. So I responded to Brad, and asked him to come pick me up to hang out before hand. He arrived shortly after, and we departed for his house.
“When are we leaving?” I asked, sitting on the couch as he sat at his computer.

“In about an hour.” He said, clicking away.

“Whose all gonna be there?” I asked out of curiosity.

“I think it’s just gonna be me, you, Paige and Sam.” He responded.

“Okay.”I said, mind getting more anxious now. Sam had been a crush of mine, and had rebuffed me. But a month prior she had confessed that she had the feelings for me that I used to have for her. Not wanting to be a doormat, I denied her as gently as possible., and hadn’t spoken to her since. So I anxiously awaited the hour to pass, watching TV and trying to think about other things. Brad told me that we were going to just make chocolate fondue and watch TV, so the casual setting helped relax me some, but not to any great extent. Shortly enough we were driving to Paige’s house and my heart was fluttering.
