Settle Up Pt 7

"Welcome to RWBY Thursdays! Home of the "Pancake Stack of the Endless"!"

"Nora," says a passing Jaune bussing tables. "We don't actually serve that here. That's Goth IHOP. Please don't get us in trouble!"

"But we should!" Said Nora. "Management could put it on the list as the pancake stack "eternal" or "infinite" or just call it the "New Nora! Stack!" The "Nora!" stack we have now isn't bottomless! 30 is too small!"

Penny giggles and Walt chuckled while Jaune sighed. "Blake doesn't get a bottomless Tuna bowl, Ruby doesn't get a infinite cookie platter and you don't get endless pancakes... just... show the customers to their table, okay?"

"Fine!" Nora groaned. Plastering a smile on her face she grabs two menus and an arm band for Penny. She hands her the armband. "Sorry Penny. Company policy. Can't have you mistaken for staff. Your outfit is definitely a little different but still too similar." Nora looks her over nodding her head. "Though I gotta say you're really rocking that sweet and sexy look! Not easy to pull off! What do you think Mister?"

Penny puts the armband on blushing. "It's quite alright and thank you, Nora." She looks at Walt who's also blushing.

Walt nods his head. "It does look very good. But I think Penny looks good no matter what!"

Nora grins and looks at the grey in Penny's Ribbon and Walter's Green stone Ring. "I bet you do! Come on you two. I will show you to your table!"

Nora leads them to a corner table. "Your server will be with you momentarily. I hope you kids have a great night!"

They laugh and thank Nora. "I wonder why they have her as a hostess?" Penny says.

Walt smirks. "Just my guess, but they probably won't let her in the kitchen and don't completely trust her to wait tables which leaves bartender or hostess since bussing tables or washing dishes would also take her into the kitchen."

Penny thinks about that as she opens up her menu. "That makes sense. So what's usually good here?"

Walt scans the menu too. "It used to be a burger themed restaurant from before called "Ruby Tuesdays" but after the explosion of character themed eateries they re-branded to "RWBY Thursdays". They're still mostly a burger chain but added a small focus menu on characters favorites foods like the pancakes, fish and cookies and renamed some of the standard dishes to appeal to fans... I think."

Penny looks up at Walt. "You sure seem to be knowledgeable for someone who hasn't been here before, Walt."

Walt purses his lips when Weiss shows up. "Hello. I'm Weiss and I'll be your server- oh! It's the guy and the penny from the clips Neon was showing around! Business is really picking up tonight thanks to that! Thank you!"

They both smile. "You're very welcome. Has it really already made that big a difference?"

Weiss nods her head. "It certainly did. It's not usually this busy and we haven't hit our peak time yet. Do you two know what you'd like to order? Maybe start you off with some drinks?"

Walt nods. "I'll take a Rainier. Branwen size. And let's start off with an Beacon onion blossom, a large Nevermore wings platter..." he looks at Penny.

Penny nods. "Make them "Spicy". I'd like a large Mantle Milkshake and I think I'll add Mystral mozzarella sticks. I'd like a Ruby Boarbatusk Burger with Pyrrha fries..."

Walt nods. "And I'll take a Yang Boarbatusk Burger with Pyrrha fries and a side of Ozpin onion rings... oh, and make them Professor Port sized!"

Penny nods and smiles. "Oh, yes please do!"

"Starting your night off with a Yang, eh big guy? Hey yo!" Said a passing Yang Xiao Long.

Weiss rolled her eyes, Penny giggles and Walt smirked and offered the firecracker a fistbump which she happily reciprocated. "Thanks! You guys are great!"

Weiss shook her head. "Please don't encourage her. Alright, I'll put your order in and get you those drinks!"

"Thank you, Weiss!" They told her.

Penny looks around interested. "Oh! I see a Ruby over there! And there's a Pyrrha and a Blake! Looks like a Neo is tending the bar! I don't see Ren..."

Walt nodded. "He's probably in the kitchen..."

Penny looks back at Walter. "I was correct, wasn't I? This isn't your first time here, is it?"

Walt nodded. "I may have come to a couple of these a few times before..."

Penny looked interested! "Because you like the food... or because you like the show?"

Walt looked at her. "The foods not bad usually... pretty standard fare for this type of restaurant. But yes, I've come here as a fan of the show mostly."

"I see," said Penny and Weiss who was returning with their drinks. "Large beer for the gentleman and milkshake for Penny. If you're a regular are you in our rewards club? You should have said so."

Walt looks at Penny. She's very interested! He sighs. "Friday, go ahead and verify."

(("Of course, Boss."))

Weiss looks at her tablet. "Oh you are in the rewards club! Let me just add your order into that so you get your points. Looks like you have enough to redeem for a free dessert visit! Looks like your usual preference- Oh!" Weiss chuckles. "You won't be needing that then?"

Walt nods.

"Won't be needing what?" Penny asked.

"Oh, look someone needs icewater!" Says Weiss. "Please excuse me!"

Penny looks at Walt. "Something bad Walter?"

Walt shakes his head and sips his beer. "No... not bad. Just a tad embarrassing. Each visit gets you points. You can get a small discount or save them up for a rewards." He points at wall. "T-shirts, pins and other merchandise... but uh, if you save enough points you can have a server spend a little time with you. Nothing outrageous or scandalous. It isn't that kind of establishment. Just a little personal time in 5, 10 and 15 minute increments..." Walt flushes and drinks his beer.

((What he's trying to say Penny is Walter always saves for the 15 minute allotment which comes with a free dessert that a available character will feed you."))

"Oh!" Said Penny blushing. "So the reason he doesn't need that is because..."

(("Correct Penny. Walter consistently asks for a Penny Polendina more than any other when they're available. He's a fanboy for certain characters. Your character is one of them and a favorite choice overall from your franchise followed by Neo and Pyrrha, then Nora, Ruby and Blake who he enjoys feeding rather being fed by and then the more mature-"))

Walt says, "I think that's enough, Friday. Thank you!"

(("Yes, Boss."))

Penny giggles. "Well I think that's very sweet and flattering! No wonder you were happy to see me that night at the party!" She thinks for a moment. "We probably shouldn't tell the others... it might give the wrong impression! Would you like to request a "Penny" to feed you dessert tonight? I won't mind."

Walt grabs her hand. "The only Penny Polendina I want is you!"

Now they're both red faced which is made even worse by the arrival of Weiss and Ruby. Weiss is blushing for them. "Ahem. Here's your appetizers-" Ruby slaps her plates on the table and buts in. "Awwww! That's adorable! You got yourself a good one, Penny! High-five! How'd you guys meet? You've got to- Gack!"

"Sorry for the interruption," said Weiss her eyebrow twitching as she pulls Ruby away. "Do you folks need anything else? No? Call if you need anything!"

Ruby being dragged away "Weiss! Don't pull cloak! **** me!"

Walt and Penny both look at each other and laugh!

"What are you looking at Neo?"

Neo looks up at Pyrrha and texts [Friday says Penny went to Karaoke. They sang songs from our show. Penny got sad by clips of the "bad" things that happened to us]

The others nod. Penny would be saddened by watching those things happen to them. That's just who she was.

"Do you think we should watch?" Sienna asked.

Neo shook her head. [Penny says Walt told her we could if we wanted to individually but the thought of us having to watch bad things happening to ourselves over and over makes him sad.]

They smile and nod. That sounded like Walter too. He would be sad for them having to relive their pain again. Just like Penny, that's just who he was.

Sasha nods. "If you all want to watch mine individually I don't mind but... I don't want to watch it myself."

"Sí," Roberta adds. "I feel the same way about mine..."

The majority of the others all agree. They don't particularly want to see themselves reliving their worst experiences again. Most of them will never forget living, or not living, through them once.

"And not all of us have bad endings or tragic stories," Ilulu said. "I don't really want to see the bad parts but most of mine is pretty good, I think."

"Agreed," Says Senko. "I don't mind if you ladies want to watch mine either."

"Mine was mostly aimed at kids so it shouldn't be that bad to watch," said Raven."although... I'd rather not watch it myself... embarrassing..."

"And some of us are from games," Serana said. "You'd have to play through specific parts or watch a playthrough video. And some games might be modded in embarrassing ways... but I don't mind you watching or playing the vanilla parts..."

"Ahnassi leaves it you to decide", she says but shakes her head. "But she doesn't want to know and hopes you be respectful. Ahnassi private moments with Walter are there... game doesn't show intimate but is still personal with very, special friend..."

Lifts-Her-Tail and several of the others also nod. They don't mind as well as long everyone is respectful... but they don't necessarily want to know their friends have been watching or reading their private moments either.

"Then lets agree to that then," Willow says. "We'll all try to be respectful of each others stories and wishes, if and when we do experience them. And most of them should be done privately or away from the person involved unless they give permission. Noone has to watch their own stories if they don't want to either."

Everyone agreed to that.

She slipped into the restaurant. "Welcome to RWBY Thursdays-Oh?" Nora looked around. "I thought... oh, well."

She watched as the Nora looked around and, seeing as she was alone, reached under the hostess station. She watched as Nora pulled out a whole birthday cake and laughed sneakily, eating whole slices. "Mmm... RWBY red velvet!"

The restaurant was getting busy. She had to be careful dodging the staff. Thankfully this was her Forte. She spotted her targets in a back corner booth. D6. It looked like a Weiss Schnee was their server. She slipped off to the bathroom gritting her teeth until she came to empty stall.

She relaxed for a bit. Using her semblance on so many was still taxing. She calmed down and waited. She took a breath before reactivation and slipped back out heading for the kitchen slipping in behind a Jaune.

A Ren and just a few staff were back here. Much easier.

"Hey Ren," Jaune sighed holding out a plate with a steak. "B4 wants a refire."

Ren looked up disgruntled. "No. It's perfectly medium rare! That is what they ordered!"

Jaune sighed. "I know and that's what I told them... but the customer said they want it cooked "a little more" and to "make it nice"."

"They want it cooked a little more? Fine, Jaune!" The usually cool headed Ren had had enough of the service industry. He plated the burgers he just finished and tossed the steak back on the grill then smashed it down with his spatula. Juices sizzled and spat as flames leaped as he intentionally scorches it.

"Whoa, Ren!" Jaune said. "That's not cool-"

Ren shrugged like he didn't give a shit. "They wanted it cooked a little more! Fuck them if they don't know what they want!"

The drama is the perfect distraction. She checks the burgers and the order. D6. A "Ruby" and a "Yang" burger. But which one is which?

Checking them quickly one smelled a little sweet and the other had BBQ sauce. She made her best guess and pulled out the vial. A few quick drops.

"Easy Ren!" Jaune tried to calm down his friend.

"There's nothing "easy" about any of this Jaune!" He rips his apron off. "Idiotic customers! This job barely comes with any "perks"! They replaced "my" Nora with that one... and I know she's responsible for the disappeared birthday cake... again! I... I'm going on my break!"

Ren pulled out a pack of cigarettes. She slipped out the side door behind him, around the dumpster and walked away.

Jaune scratched his head and sighed. "Sure buddy... whatever you need pal." He and Ren had been here awhile and were the only ones left from their original crew. Management at this location would swap out the ladies for "fresher, newer models" from time to time... but they didn't care about the guys as much. Cheapest back alley rejuvenation jobs they could get and possibly a new look was the best they got. The years were starting to take their toll.

He put the steak back on the customer from table B4's plate. "Hope they like well done," he sighed. Then saw the burgers and checked the order. They looked right so he placed them on the counter in the window between the kitchen and the service area. "D6 order up!"
