The Trip

"Can't wait until next Monday!" chirps Emily.

I turn my head from the TV to look at her. "What is - oh yeah. Peru and Argentina!" I say.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, I can't fucking wait!" says Doe, clearly excited for the trip.

"Can't believe we're missing two weeks of school for it," says Alice, "What are you guys doing about making up work?"

"Oh stop worrying Alice," Emily says, "We'll be fine. I'll bring a bit on the trip although I doubt I'll do any."

"And we have that 4 day weekend when we get back," adds Will, "I'm going to do most of my work then."

"Besides, we're seniors! Our teachers don't give a fuck," puts in Jake, smiling.

"So true," nods Emily.

Jake, Will, Emily, Allie, Alice, Doe and I are all taking the same Spanish class, although we are split between different classes - meaning we're at the same level with the same teacher, although some of us have the class at a different time of the day. Turns out, all of us are going on the trip, our parents having agreed to pay the trip's cost.

"How many people are going so far?" I ask.

"Like 20? I know Mike, Aaron and Rachel are coming too," says Emily.

"And Jenna," adds Doe.

"Basically, we'll know everyone and it'll be a blast," says Jake.

The crowd lets out a roar, as the Eagles throw a touchdown, taking the lead with only a minute remaining. Attention turns back to the TV but I'm still excited about the trip. Doe will be there, its two weeks off school, almost everyone on the trip will be a friend, and who knows what memories will be made?
