Football Game

I hurry back to the basement to check on Doe. She's fast asleep again, snoring softly. She looks cold, huddled up on the couch, so I look around and grab a blanket, draping it over her shoulders. I step back, smiling at the sleeping Doe, taking in her beauty. She's all mine, and I can't be happier.

I head back upstairs, taking a seat in the living room to watch the game.

"Have any of you eaten yet? I'm starving," I say.

"Oh, I can cook us something if you have food," volunteers Emily, moving to get off the couch.

"Yeah, lets see what I have," says Will, heading over to the kitchen with Emily.

"Hey! How about some eggs and bacon and sandwiches?" yells Emily from the kitchen.

"Mmmm, sounds yummy!" yells back Jake.

My stomach groans at the thought of hot, freshly cooked lunch. Emily and Will are both pretty decent cooks, so I'm looking forward to seeing how the food turns out.

A roar comes from the TV, as the NFC championship game kicks off, the crowd going crazy. Its Eagles vs. Giants, a perfect game for the occasion - two rivals fighting for a trip to the big game.

With a few minutes left in the 1st quarter, Will and Emily come back into the living room, with five plates of delicious-smelling food.

"We left some for Doe and Alice, when they wake up," says Emily, handing everyone a plate. I dig in immediately, not at all disappointed with the cooking.

Its halftime when Doe wakes up again, walking into the room with her hair slightly disheveled.

"Morning guys," she says, flashing her smile.

"Took you long enough," teases Emily, and I think I see a wink exchanged between the girls, "We left you some food in the kitchen if your hungry."

"Where's Alice?" Doe asks, making her way to sit next to me on the couch.

"Still asleep, Jake just checked on her."
