"Hey Doe", I type. A few seconds pass by and I grow nervous, thinking she has decided to ignore me or that she has already logged out. Finally, her response pops up in the chat box:

Doe: Hey John!

John: What'd you think about the trip thing?

Doe: Gonna be awesome lol. Asked my parents and they said I can go...what about you?

John: I can go too!

Doe: Yay :) I can't wait.

John: Yeah. Although it's gonna be a bitch making up the school work we're gonna be missing.

Doe: Yeah, but I'll probably ask my teachers for work ahead of time and bring it on the trip :P

John: Good idea, you smartass haha. Wanna help me out and snag those for me too, for the classes we have together?

Doe: Hey! you lazy bum hahaha. You'd totally owe me one then :P

John: Yeah totally, one favor for Doe added to my debts. You know who else is going?

Doe: Um I know Emily, Jenna, and Sean are going. Oh, and Rachel too. I know Kayla can't though :(

John: Aw damn, too bad Kayla can't come

Doe: Haha, why, got something you wanna say about Kayla ;)?

John: To you? Never. your too untrustworthy

Doe: What?? What goes down in my house stays here :)

John: Oh? Sounds like you've been bad hahaha. Besides, this is my house.

Doe: Lol. Veryyyyyyyyy bad. And psh, my house.

John: Wanna fight about it?

Doe: I would beat you soooo easily.

John: Haha, of course. You'd beat with with your charm and good looks. lol

Doe: Totally. I'd pin you down and sit on top of you and you wouldn't be able to get up :P

John: Who says I'd want to? Cowgirl is fine

Doe: Hahahaha. Shaddup John ;)

The chat was going pretty well, a lot better than I thought. I mean, it was even turning pretty flirty. We continued to chat for another hour, enjoying each other's online banter. Finally, when we both realized we'd been chatting for almost hours, we signed off and went back to work.
