Chapter 7

What's next?

Towel falls with hands full

James had both of his hands filled with plates as he walked to the kitchen and back. With his full hands, his towel that was wrapped around his waist fell to the ground. James’s eyes widened as he rushed to put the dishes away and then rushed to put the towel back on, but his mom was quicker as she snatched the towel into her hands. “I’ll go throw this in the washer,” Evelyn said. “You really need to do laundry.”

Evelyn piled the towel on top of a pile of dirty clothes and then gathered the pile as she put it in the laundry basket. She carried the basket to the laundry room and tossed it into the washer. “M-mom… please…” James said as Evelyn started the washer after putting the soap in.

“Oh my…” Evelyn said. “You haven’t changed since you were a toddler and still in diapers.”

James stopped in his tracks and looked down realizing that he hadn’t been covering. James gasped as he covered his front. “Come on, I need clothes,” James said.

“Well I’m sure there are some things in your drawer,” Evelyn said as she headed for James’s bedroom.

Does she find anything?
