Check upstairs

You stand still in the hallway listening for any more sounds of movement from upstairs. For several seconds you hear nothing then you hear the sound of rain outside.

"Shit! The window!" you exclaim loudly and hurry up the stairs.

Your bedroom, like the rest of the house was dark. You flicked the light switch and wasn't suprised to see that it too wasn't working. You shine the torch across the bedroom, the light barely penetrating the shadows inside the room. You go to the open window and close it shut. Luckily very little rain water had gotten into your room. As you started to turn away from the window you catch movement out of the corner of your eye. You aim your torch towards the perceived source of movement.
