Plan for future

After Jason and Rachel got dressed again, Sophia asked Rachel: "Now we're a family. Can you unveil the future and show us what path to take?"

Rachel sighed: "I can't. That's all the problem."

"You can't? But you just tell me..."

"All the gods can see the future," Rachel interrupted her, "Do you know why the Oracle of Delphi is special?"

Sophia was speechless. Rachel obviously expected that, because she continued without waiting for a reply: "The Oracle of Delphi's true power is the ability to make prophecies. They're not just predictions of the future, they shape the future."

Seeing Sophia was still puzzled, Rachel tried another explanation: "Have you ever watched Doctor Who?"

"All 39 seasons." (Technically, Sophia has never watched the show, but she got memories from her mother Annabeth)

"Simply put, prophecies are fixed points in time. You may change the details, but the outcome is still the same. Once a prophecy is made, the future is set in stone."

"And you can't make prophecies anymore?"

"Not one since the end of the Second Gigantomachy."

"Then I think my father can help you."

Jason nodded, then said.

"I wish you will be completely loyal to me."

"I wish you will regain the ability to make prophecies."

Rachel closed her eyes, then opened them again: "I have a prophecy for you."

She told them the prophecy, but no one understood.

"Why do you have to make it so cryptic and unclear? Can't you speak it in the normal way?"

"Because those with the ability to see the future are unable to reveal what a prophecy means, as giving the answer would make the answer irrelevant. That's the rule."

Jason grinned: "Fortunately, we can walk around the rule."

Turning to Sophia, he said: "I wish you will have the ability to unravel prophecies."

Sophia blinked, then she spoke: "First, we need to gain the alliance of a certain demigod..."
