Chapter 12 by Moot Moot

A victim finds Vanessa

While Vanessa aimlessly walked down the street, there was a woman sat outside on of the buildings watching her closely. She had blonde hair that was poorly cut into a bob, and looked to be in her thirties. She wore black jeans and a black top, covering her slightly overweight build. She held a cigarette in her right hand and smoked it while watching the empty street.

Seeing Vanessa made her double take. It wasn't as if people didn't go down to this part, in fact they got alot of lost people who she would usually redirect away, after trying to sell her business of course. She recognised Vanessa, on a personal level. Her mind suddenly clicked, she knew exactly who the former CEO was. Claire Bincher was her name, she was sure Vanessa new who she was.

She had come to Vanessa for business advice, an appointment she fought and fought to get. Vanessa had reluctantly accepted, but during the appointment had no interest or care at all. Claire was distraught when Vanessa called her 'unfit for business' and that she'd 'never have what she had'. It wasn't over there, by the time the woman had got back home to cry, she turned on the news to find out that Vanessa had claimed she assaulted her and therefore needed arrest.

Claire to this day could not believe what Vanessa had done, why would she do this to her? She would often ask, her main and only assumption was that the CEO actually loved her business ideas and couldn't stand new competition rising up. After a few months of jail time, Claire found it almost impossible to find a job anywhere. That's how she ended up at rock bottom, in the backend of a carnival.

She didn't have much experience in anything really, she'd only gone to the carnival to as a leisure. It was only when she came across an old man running an incredibly strange business that she saw any hope of income. She spoke with him for a while and he eventually passed his business onto her, so he could retire.

She never got anyone to partake in the business, as it was absolutely ridiculous that nobody would agree to it. This was never a worry, however, as the carnival paid her a decent wage to simply sit there and do nothing. According to the old man, the carnival has to keep his business running as it has been since it opened, as some form of tradition.

So there she was, living in a carnival for a few years, sitting down on a chair smoking cigarettes knowing nobody even looked in her direction for business. All of that was about to change, when she saw Vanessa. An evil smile formed on her face, knowing that Vanessa was about to find out why nobody used the business!
