SOL - Nothing

“Nothing,” you reply tiredly.

“Bullshit. You’re hard as a rock,” she says, giving you a jab with her finger that makes you wince. You are tight, but this isn’t normal. Amy is a bit bolder than most girls. Fine.

“I…” You groan. It does feel good. “I worry about my mistakes.” You have made a lot of them. Being so ridiculously bold that you got yourself sent to prison… and you have **** but to question every decision that you’ve made since you came back.

“Me too,” she says, sounding surprisingly authentic. Her hands firmly and skillfully press hard, using her knuckles to painfully push on your muscles. “It’s hard.”

You smile with your eyes closed as you enjoy her hands. It hurts, but that’s not a bad thing. You can handle it. “I know,” you murmur. “I can’t even drink.” At FUTA you can’t because there’s so much to think about and games and stuff… you can’t just have a bad day and go get wasted. But back home in Spain, you were at the club every night. Having a few drinks always made things easier, especially when you were thinking about certain people from your past. You can’t do that now. You need to be as good as you can be. You can’t let Riley’s team down.

Amy laughs bitterly. “I know.” Her hair tickles your bare back when she shakes her head. “This might sound odd to you, but I used to be in a position of authority. I felt like I had all this pressure on me to be the best so,” she says, pausing. Her hands rest on your back. “I did something a little ****.”

You wait, but she doesn’t say anything. “Did it work?” you ask.

“Well, I’m not in a position of authority anymore,” she says with a little laugh. Oh. You feel bad. “But,” she says, a musical note in her voice. “…I can’t say that I mind. Can’t really complain about touching a body like yours.”

You know that tone and you recognize the way her hands feel on you. Girls have been like this with you for a long time, but it hits differently after prison. Still, you like Amy. She seems real. In fact, she seems similar to you. She has regrets. Is it weird that she wants to flirt? No. It’s normal to want to take your mind off your bad memories.
