An encounter

"Calm down, boy" says your father. "Don't you realize that your sister is manipulating you?"

You are in your room, but you leave your door open to listen.

"You are forbidden from touching her" thankfully it seems that what you tried worked on Jack, he's angry.

"You want to forbid me anything? Boy, you are crossing the line."

"Bwa!" sound of fist meeting the face is very loud.

"This time you have done it" your father voice is angry.

What follows is the sound of struggle. Then you hear voice of your father:

"You asked for this" and he punches your brother. It seems that although your brother is more fit he isn't experienced enough in fights. Your heart sink. But then you hear another punch and another. You are afraid. He can kill him! And then you! Then you hear a gunshot. You leave your room quickly. Your father is lying on the floor, your brother sits with his back to the wall, blood is flowing from his face. Your mother is standing near the entrance. She has a gun in her hand. You immediately understand what happened.

"Mom" you tell her, but then she aims at your direction.

"First I want an explanation. Then we'll see if you deserve hugs" seems that she's angry. But why at you? "Will you live?" she asks Jack, he nods his head weakly "okay. Emily, help him clean up. And then we will talk."
