Second course

You go back to the group, where everyone seems either confused or embarrassed, and asks.

"What happened ? I was concentrating, so I didn't see much."

"Nothing... nothing much..." Joya says.

"Hum... you seem to affect certain feelings..." Pict commented.

You smile at the answer, as you thought, you seem to have raised the arousal of everyone in the room. Sex magic will be really fun !

After that, the rest of the students tries with more or less success to control their mana affinity. The teacher then explains that everyone will get a personal teacher to learn spells, but most of the courses will be in group. So, they should try to find ways to materialize their mana into spells by themselves. She tells them that working this way helps find new techniques and spells among the students, and it will be helpful when they'll research by themselves when they'll be magus.

After a luxurious lunch, the group goes to its second course. Which is actually, not really a course from what Pict is saying. It's more a preparation for the rest of the studies, like the one they got in the morning.

They all arrive in a large room, like the previous one, but this time with a magic circle in the middle and several large windows. And old man with a long mustache of white hairs is waiting for them in a long black robe that hides his figure.

"Welcome children of the mana. I'm lord Farion. This afternoon, we will call a familiar for each one of you, familiars are the magus best friends. They'll help you have a better control of mana, give you good advice at first and become your best friend later. At a higher level, they'll even be great helps in fights by keeping enemies at bay while you cast."

With that he yells. "Come forth Sky king !"

A screeching sound is then heard and an eagle the size of a car come at the window behind the man. It looks at everyone with piercing eyes and stays behind him.

"This is Sky king, everyone will have to name his or her familiar. At first he was just a regular looking eagle, but with my power growing he became a titanic eagle. Not everyone will get to that stage, but even in their original form, familiars are powerful allies. Now. Let start with lady Barton. Come here and step in front of the circle."

The blonde that came first in the last course steps forward and walks to the magic circle. The mage come to her and pronounce unintelligible words before the runes lights up and from a flash on the floor, some kind of red lizard around three feet long come out of it.

"So, it's a salamander, the familiar of fire mages... It'll become a fire drake if you get strong enough." Lord Farion explained. "Now, name it."

"Cinder." The woman said.

The creature make a cracking sound, like burning coal and join her out of the circle. She then walk next to the group, accompanied by the creature. She then play with it like it would be a dog she had for years.

Next came the two mage that was before Pict and then it was Pict turn.

From the flash of light, a translucent flame the size of the fey's head, came out, changing color regularly.

"A wisps, the familiar of charms mage. It'll become a..."

"I know." Pict cut the man. "I'll name it Burning love."

Lord Farion looked at him with a stern look, but Pict ignored him and moved his hand toward his familiar. The flame floated toward it.

"You can go..." The mage says.

Pict left with his familiar and Joya took the place. This time, a strange blob of purple matter came out, moving and waving.

"A mimic, the familiar of transmogriphers mage. When you'll get strong enough, it'll become a doppelganger. Now, name it."

"Uh, Clark !"

Lord Farion barely hide a look of surprise. While the purple blob took the form of a bracelet.

"Interesting name... You can go." He says.

Joya take the bracelet, put it on and leave. She's then replaced by Lola, who invoke a skeleton crow with translucent feather.

"A undead crow, the familiar of necromancers mage. It'll become a drake-lich when you'll be strong enough. Now, name it."

"Black moon." She says.

The crow then fly to her shoulder and the teacher dismiss her.

Now, it's your turn... You wonder what it will be, and by the look the teacher gives you, he is curious too.

"mister Jayce, uh..." He says without any form like he did to every non noble students. "I heard you had quite some interesting resonance, let see what it'll bring us."

You stand in front of the magic circle, the light come out as he chant the magic words, everyone keep his breath. And out of that light, come out a small naked lady, three feet tall, ridiculously large hips, overly generous breasts, long black wavy hairs, and a flawless shiny purple skin that seems to be made of plastic. She also have small black horns coming from her forehead, bat-like wings, red eyes with sliced pupil, long pointy ears, and a tail with a tuft of black hairs at the end. She looks at you and smile happily, showing long canine teeth.

Lord Farion raise his eyebrows in surprise.

"An imp ? That's fitting... I guess. I didn't know it could be called as familiar. I have no idea what it'll become if you get enough power, thought. How will you call it ?"

"I think I'll call her..."
