She is too afraid

Winlay shook her head slowly. She would love to switch places with anyone, but not Mika. She didn't want to put her friend into a situation she felt could really be dangerous.

"As scared as I am, I don't want to put you in that kind of danger either. Besides, if he realizes it was a lie we could be in even more trouble. Lets just hope for the best. Surely Xelta would not allow someone who is truly bad to make it to such a high station among his followers."

Mika's disappointment was evident, but she didn't say another word about it. Winlay changed into a modest gown and went to bed early. Sleep didn't come for a long time as her fears about the next day grew.

The next morning she tried to go about her day like nothing was wrong but couldn't get the coming meeting out of her mind. All the other initiates were excited for their time slots and those that had already met with Beldan seemed happy enough, but she couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. Finally it was time for her meeting.
