NOW will you speak up?
It’s been a long day, we can just sleep for now…
Exhausted from your day’s ‘activities’, you decide to loosen your muscles and lay down in the hay. To your surprise, the hay is very warm and soft, and you fall asleep right away.
You awake a long time after, and are blinded by bright lights. You look around, and appear to be in some sort of clinical or medical area. You see that doctor from before… what was his name? Something a Turkish sounding you think. Voz? Your mind can’t recall. The blurriness fades from your vision as you begin to see more of the room around you. You must have been drugged…
“Ah! Finally awake!” The doctor eagerly proclaims. “I’m sure you must be rather bewildered! I just completed the last step to you fully becoming a member of the herd!”
Unsure of what he’s referring to, you look at him perplexedly, not wanting to risk talking.
“You see, cows cannot talk English, or French, or whatever language you may speak. Now, we can be pretty certain your mind has been completely overrided and you haven’t a clue what I’m saying, but this procedure was just to be safe. We went ahead and performed some open surgery on your vocal cords, so now we won’t have to worry about that! You are physically incapable of intelligible speech. Don’t worry, though, we made sure you can still moan and moo, just what you do best!”
Horrified, your hands fly to your neck, where you can feel a small incision line. You desperately try to scream, shout, yell, or do anything, but nothing comes out.
With terror you realize that you now have no where to communicate to anyone that you aren’t just another cow. You can’t escape anymore.
