IC Day 10 - Sit with Adella

You jump up and go to Adella. That's all it takes.

Olga sees that and takes the hint. Adella totally saw it too.

"Are you OK?" she asks uncertainly.

"Yes," you reply, feeling better. Being away from Olga, you feel less pressure.

"Should I stay here?" Adella asks.

"Are you leaving?"

"I was just about to go out."

"Oh," you say, disappointed. Adella is like your comfort blanket now. You want to just sit on this couch and watch this movie, then sleep... you will feel better tomorrow. You're sure of it.

"You can come with me," she says.

That's how you end up going with Adella into the city to visit a nightclub. It's not what you expected to be doing, but it's good to get away from everything, and Adella's presence is so reassuring.

You find yourself sitting at a little table in a big place full of flashing lights and drunk, sweaty, happy people. It's your first time at a club in America. It's a bit different from what you're used to, but... it's nice to have a glass of wine. Adella sits across from you with a drink of her own. She has a perfect dress for this, but you don't feel dressed right at all.

You ask her if she comes to clubs alone often.

"I try not to leave alone," she replies with a smile. Ah... so that's what she came here to do. You can't blame her... everyone has tension and stress to deal with.

You encourage her to go ahead and do what she would normally do. You can always call your own ride back to camp, after all. You don't want to be a burden, and you don't mind just relaxing with some wine for a bit. You're really enjoying the wine.

"You're sure?" Adella asks.

"Yes," you reply.

"OK. Text me if you need anything," she says, and leaves the table. You watch her go down onto the dance floor, then order another glass of wine. Finally you can just... take a breath.
