Arachne.

The creature got bored with her eavesdropping and decide to explore her surroundings so scurried along the conduit's and out down to the lower deck. Helina and Sado oblivious to the intruder carried on studying the Frobisher's logs looking for any clues to what happened after the boarding. The creature dropped down onto the deck of the holding cell and moved into an open space and started to transform growing bigger. The creature grew and grew until the internal sensors could no longer ignore the presence and triggered the intruder alarm. Unlucky for the creature picking the detention centre had not been a wise choice to transform as the hatches locked and a **** field was erected.

Helina and Sado made their way to the detention centre and overrode the lockout and entered seeing the half woman half spider. Sado pulled her weapon and was about to shoot when Helina stopped her.

"Before we shoot we should at least know who or what we are shooting."

Sado kept her weapon trained on the creature who had retreated into one of the holding cells as Helina approached. Helina felt she was in no danger as she looked the creature over.

"What is your name and where did you come from?"

"Name what is a name?"

"I am Helina and this is Sado"

"Ah I see well my designation is experiment Ar023b and I am the product of a failed experiment."

Helina look at Sado and nodded for her to put her weapon away.

"Why were you being transported and why were you labelled dangerous?"

"Well all failed experiments are transported to a secret facility and as for being dangerous, that's false. Easy to label something that you fear as dangerous."

After more conversation, Helina found out that the creature had been produced as a military weapon and to produce more like her. However the tinkering with the DNA of two species and rendered the creature sterile thus a failure. Helina asked about the attack and the creature told her that it had been swift and the males had been killed and the females were taken away. Helina also found out that if the creature was small enough she could avoid being detected by any ships sensors. Helina told the creature that she needed a name as they could not call her Ar023b. Helina suggested that they should call her Arachne and Arachne smiled and thanked Helina.

Helina told Arachne that they did have any quarters for but she was free to make the cargo hold her home until they found a place for her to live on. Sado went back to the bridge as Helina took Arachne to the hold.

"I had a dream of being cocooned but I think it was not a dream am I right?"

"Yes you are right and I am sorry for that but I did not know if you were dangerous. I hoped you enjoyed the stimulation apart from the cocoon?"

Helina blushed and said that maybe they could repeat it again sometime cocoon and all. Arachne smirked as she entered the hold and started to spin herself a web to sleep in. Helina watched then headed back to the bridge to see if Sado had found anything else out and she had.
