Power Play

Things were really falling into place for Sara as she started to carve out the relationship that she never knew she wanted. The early feedback on her transitioning into a Senior Associate was great while Mark seemed to be falling more and more in line since Saturday's slip. The one thing that Sara really wasn't expecting was how much she would enjoy being a cock tease, finding it especially thrilling to wear revealing clothing around the apartment or to grab Mark's butt as if to show a sense of ownership. "Sara, you need to listen to me, nothing beats tried and true methods, we need to pitch traditional marketing to land the client." Sara rolled her eyes before saying "Mark, trust me, I don't want you to pitch that idea. It is ineffective and while it is cheaper the cost will add up in the long run. I love you and I do trust you but its just not the right decision. Now I am going to go grab some lunch but remember we need to be up to the offices in an hour for our pitch"

While Sara made her way down to the cafeteria Mark knew deep down that he was right and decided to head up to the offices earlier and pitch his idea. What happened next really knocked off Mark from his high horse. The partner in charge of the project ripped his idea apart saying "Do you not realize how long this will take? Our clients have a deadline and this won't fill their staffing needs until the end of next year! Now get out of my office." With his head held very low Mark left the floor and went back to his workstation where he bumped in to Sara. After he told her what happened he was afraid that she was going to yell at him but to his surprise she hugged him and said "Mark. You shouldn't have done that but it will all be okay. We still have my pitch to present and if they like it hopefully everything else will smooth over."

As Mark watched Sara give the digital marketing presentation he was amazed about how she commanded the room. During the Q and A portion she was asked about Mark's pitch to which she responded "we were just trying to gain any last bit of information about the client's wishes. That was my call to send Mark up and I do apologize." This caused a smile from the partner who said "thank goodness. You guys had me scared thinking that was all you had prepared. Really nice job team."

As the rest of the team congratulated Sara, Mark couldn't help but to be proud of his girlfriend but slightly embarrassed that she had to take the fall for his mistakes. That night when they were home together watching TV, Mark turned to Sara and said, "hey I'm really sorry about what happened today and I am sorry you had to take the fall." Sara replied with "oh don't worry about it! I love you so much and I will always protect you!"

Sara's reassurance and overall attitude around his mistake made Mark feel really warm and more in love with Sara. Knowing full well what was starting to become the expectation Mark asked "to make it up to you would you like a foot massage?"
