Power Girl and Dr. Mendez fight at Wayne Manor.
Crawling out of the wreckage of the folded Bentley, Eva Mendez growled under her breath, her fangs and talons bared like a jungle cat. With blood red eyes, the vampire glared at the tall buxom blond still standing in the same spot, her arms crossed with a look of boredom on her features when she blew a blonde strand of hair out of her blue eyes.
“So… You can’t fight me yourself? You need your pet BIMBO to throw your punches for you? And here I thought the Dark Knight was fearless…” Pulling herself free from the wreckage and straightening herself to retain her dignity after the strike, Eva eyed the two in front of her, the look of rabid hatred evident on her chessar fanged smile. Even Bruce had to take a brief step back when the undead woman finally struck. Like a blur of shadow, she zipped across the front foray of the Wayne mansion, zig-zagging around Kara with such speed the only thing Bruce could see was a neon black line that slowly faded and tangled around itself like a knot of black light. In a split second too fast for Bruce to react, he found Eva staring right at him, face to face with her jaws wide and unhinged sporting teeth better seen on a shark than a human woman. But when her jaws clamped shut, they missed biting Bruce’s face off by only a mere centimeter. “Gotcha bitch!” Glaring back at the woman gripping her ankle, she was pulled back and thrown into the ruined Bentley with the same force as before, making the crumpled car fold from the impact and roll and tumble back from the force.
“THAT’s for calling me a bimbo you mascara plastered skank, its make up, not war paint!”
With a bellowing roar, the car was torn in half, its remains scattering in either direction as Eva glared red daggers at Power Girl. Turning her attention towards the setting sun, Eva’s smile grew more twisted and feral when the sun finally fell past the horizon, giving way to dusk. “Guess what? No more kid gloves…” Stepping out of the debris, the vampire woman sauntered slowly towards the blonde heroine, but as she did so, she began to change. Her flesh seemed to change, becoming dark as shadow, when she became a black silhouette walking towards Kara, the feminine form began to grow and expand. Taller and larger, the form changed, delicate feet splayed out into round clawed paws that stood on balled toes, thin delicate fingers grew into thick and powerful claws brandished like knives. A long black tail swished out behind the now feline form before it fell to all fours and stood before the Kryptonian with gleaming white fangs. Eva may not have been a sorceress like Zatanna, but she wasn’t stupid either, and her lover showed her so many tricks to play with her food.
Blinking back impressed, Kara found herself staring up at a panther the size of a small bus, its shadowy body was so pitch-black Kara had to look around her just to make out the shape of it in front of her. The shadowy cat roared out with an intensity that made the windows of the mansion shake and force Bruce to cover his ears and back away. Within that split second, Eva lunged for Power Girl, finally getting the drop on the blonde woman and pining her to the ground. With the ferocity of a starved alley cat having pounced on a mouse, Eva slashed and stomped her claws into the woman, her blows so intense her claws dug deep into the gravel and stone beneath her. Like a bear trap, the shadow panther clamped its jaws around the woman and thrashed back and forth, the sound of tearing fabric and raging growls filling the air before Dr. Mendez tossed the blonde woman aside like a spent toy and turned her attention back to the man standing at the doors to his mansion.
“YoUr NeXt LiTtLe MoUsY…” Licking her chops and taking her time to prowl towards Bruce, the blood red glow in her eyes never faded, a blood rage had taken hold and the vampire saw no reason to hold back anything. Lunging forward with claws outstretched, Bruce found himself staring back at death reaching for him once again. The shadowy monster never had a chance to make contact when a delicate foot slammed down on Eva’s skull and sent her straight to the ground with the force of a cannon ball.
“That was my favorite jacket you bitch!” Frowned Kara, her hands at her hips while her foot ground into the skull of the massive panther pinned down by her limitless strength. Indeed, her jacket and her dress skirt were tattered, yet underneath, not a blemish marred her skin. “Time to housebreak you kitty cat.” Lifting her foot for only a split second, Kara lightly kicked the monster away as easily as one would punt a soccer ball out of their yard, sending the creature reeling back and tumble towards the gated fence. Regaining her footing, Eva growled and sneered back at Kara, just when the woman practically teleported towards her with lightning speed and gripped her throat with just one hand. With a gust of air, Power Girl flew high into the air with her prisoner in hand. “So, you don’t like sunlight huh?” Flying higher and higher, the massive panther thrashed and fought to get free, already passing the dark clouds overhead and still climbing higher into the sky. It wasn’t until Eva felt sunlight on her shadowy flesh did she realise what her opponent was doing. They had climbed so high that they were reintroduced to the sun just dusking over the horizon of the earth.
Once sunlight exposed her form, the illusion began to crumble, disintegrating until the only thing in Power Girl’s hand was the thrashing screaming form of a dark-haired woman in a cocktail dress trying and failing pitifully to try and claw out her eyes. “You want down? Fine.” Letting go, the screaming undead woman fell back to earth like a stone.
Watching everything from his spot at the doors of his mansion, Bruce saw the woman fall full speed until she hit the gravel of his parkway with a wet crunch, her impact forming a small crater nearly a foot deep once the dust and gravel cleared. Stepping down and walking towards the impact, Bruce found Kara landing right next to him with a triumphant smirk. Down at their feet, Dr. Mendez lay motionless, bruised and shattered. Batman had no doubt that undead or not, all of her bones were broken, and her organs ruptured from the impact alone.
“To think she was only a vampire for just two weeks, her powers are inhuman!”
“Oh, I’m perfectly FINE Bruce, no need to fret over me Bruce, oh my dress? I can afford a replacement easily.” Fluttering her ruined jacket, Kara sulked. “And this was my favorite work vest too.”
“I have replacement clothing in the mansion, come, I’ll find you something.”
“Gee thanks.” Chuckled the woman, taking the jacket off and folding it in her arms. “So, what do we do with the late Dr. Mendez?”
At that split second, surprising both heroes, Eva lunged up with broken crooked limbs and latched onto Kara’s back, just before clamping her jaws down on the woman’s shoulder and biting down with all the force she could muster. As invincible as Power girl was, even she was susceptible to the magical strength of a vampiric bite when chipped and broken fangs finally pierced skin and drank deep of her Kryptonian blood. The split second her blood was tasted on her lips, Eva’s eyes lit up. She never knew such power, such unbridled, unlimited power. It filled her to her vey core and ignited a fire in her darkened soul. She felt like she could tear down mountains and make the seas boil, she had to tell her master, her lover what TRUE power tasted like… If only she could…
Looking over the charred remains of the woman still clamped over her shoulder, Kara watched on as Eva’s flesh disintegrated into charcoal to expose her blackened skeleton, before that too crumbled to ash at her feet. The two tiny pin pricks in her skin instantly healed as if the attack never happened. “Uhm… Gross.”
“She tried to feed off your blood, I guess she never realised you and your cousin might as well be a walking solar battery.” Looking down at the smouldering remains of the late doctor, Bruce waved his foot over the still simmering ash to watch it crumble under his foot. “She took a bite out of the sun and it burned her alive.”
“Yeah… Still gross, now about those replacement cloths Bruce?”
