"...How do I even know you're telling the truth? You sound like Naruto... and you're not good at lying and impersonation, also like Naruto, but things just aren't making sense. You're still hiding something."

"M-Maybe so, but Temari-chan, you have to believe me! Ino's... many people are in danger because of her!"

"Pretending that you're even truly Naruto... I can easily understand that being a jinchuuriki is stressful – Gaara still suffers from nightmares from it, but I don't even think Naruto could come up with such a crazy story really – how did the Kyuubi escape? Why has it possessed Ino? And why are you here? You refused sex when I offered it, and you have yet to attack me yet... your illusion is pretty good, better than what Naruto can do, or even Ino, for that matter..."

She sighs, "Maybe if I had a truth serum or something, but I'm sorry, whoever you really are, I just can't trust you."

"I'm going to have to tie you up... and call the Hokage. She'll have to straighten this out."

Shit! If she told anyone what was happening, they'd kill him! Ino would probably escape too – she'd know something was up if he took too long.

"P-Please, Temari-chan, I beg you, don't turn me in! If the council finds out the Kyuubi's gotten out... they'll kill me! And then Ino-chan! Please! It's the reason... I agreed to come here. I need your help!"

Temari pauses, staring at him with a calculating look.

"Can you dispel the genjutsu? Or whatever it is?"

"N-No, I don't know how the Kyuubi did this. It might be one of her powers."

"Hmm. Fine. Then answer a question for me."

"When you fought my little brother for the first time... who was the first to fall?"

Naruto racks his brain, dredging up the moment. It's fuzzy in his mind but–

"That's...a trick question. Me and Gaara both fell to the ground at the same time."

She looks at him, her face softening.

"Alright, I guess I can believe you. The only people who could answer that correctly are Kankurou, Me, Gaara, Naruto, Sasuke, and that other girl... what's her name."

"Sakura-chan."

"Yeah, her," she shrugs, "Alright. Maybe... I believe you, for now. What can I do? If you don't want me to tell the Hokage, that's fine, I guess... though I'd get in trouble if this thing came out. I could always deny it, of course. But what can I do? If Ino is truly possessed by the Kyuubi, there's little I can do change that. She'd kill me if I attacked her."

He shakes his head, "It's worse than that Temari-chan,"

She glares at him, "What does that mean?"

"I-... I can't say. Please, don't ask. Just don't get near Ino. She'll do something far worse than kill you. Don't look at her eyes."

A genjustsu? She wonders, but accepts Naruto's warning. It wasn't too far-fetched considering Itachi's power.

"What I'll do... is I'll lie to Ino. I'll go back and say... I couldn't do anything. That you suspected me and that I couldn't risk it. After that... I don't know what will happen. She's going to be busy later today, so maybe she'll put off capturing you until she has a better plan."

"I still don't get why she wants me, Naruto."

He looks down at his feet, "J-Just know that you're being targeted Temari-chan. And don't tell anyone. I... I'll think of something. I.. listen, can we meet up tomorrow, at noon... anywhere you want, so we can talk..."

"Here's fine," she says casually, already thinking how to put up defenses in her suite.

He nods, "T-Thank you for trusting me Temari-san,"

"I don't trust anyone..." she says warily, "I'm just believing you... for now. I'll tell the Hokage if this gets too heavy though."

"I'm going to go... and tell Ino I failed. We'll talk tomorrow," he stands reluctantly, bowing in an unusual sign of respect, and leaves.

Temari slumps in her chair, a confusing weight on her shoulders.
